To be fair, I wonder how many Stockport fans were starting threads saying "Coventry fans raving on about Baker", after his first couple of games on their website?
Start another thread...
Yes and if he was still here you'd be moaning sisu only play kids.

There's a world of difference between playing in a team with several inexperienced youngsters, to playing in a team full of experienced players looking after you - which allows some freedom to express yourself, and to impress.
That's what sisu did not understand - a blend of youth and experience is required. In the right ratio.......
They still idolise him! I'll never forget a fan on R5 saying "There was nothing Carl Baker couldn't do with a football-and he didn't score ordinary goals, they were all absolute screamers".
C'mon Baker, you can do that again with better players around you!!!
No surprise. FFS he was too young in a team that was ravaged last season. The games where he was magical-Leeds & Palace 2nd half, Burnley before the red, all the pre-season games-hinted at what incredible potential he has. I've been saying future 25m+ player for a while, which is why 500k-1m is a total travesty. Keep him for another year and we could have sold him for 5m+ like Southampton did Oxlade-Chamberlain and like Leeds did Delph. He'll be better than Delph IMO. Incredible balance and close control, the most natural I've ever seen at CCFC.
I know that you're prone to hyperbole, and lots of ordinary players are "the best you've seem for years"(with made up facts to justify it), but come on? Future £25million pound player?
Crazy.
Who knows?
Why not if they can rip off Liverpool for 35m for a striker that can't score
Did he not have better players around him after leaving Stockport?
Being around better players, and playing against better players just makes him look a poor player, big fish in small pond syndrome, can't cope in the larger pool.

And you are prone to snide sarcastic comments that do nothing but snipe: just because I actually *shock* like some of our footballers, I'm "prone to hyperbole"? Bullshit. And if you ask the scouts of big 4 clubs who've been scouting Gael for years, I think they'll agree with me about his potential. No guarantee he'll go that far, but he's a future top Premiership player at the very least. And you saw what Henderson went for-he'll be better than him.
There's alot less income in L1...and in L2, should we end up there. If that isn't gambling with the clubs long-term future, I don't know what is. They went far too far with their cuts last season, to the point where a bit of investment-not much-could have saved them a good 5m-and that's just this season, never mind the potential years to follow.
I'm not a loon in saying this, I think OSB would back me up in thinking they failed to find a balance.
Think that saying that Bigi was "magical" in the games mentioned and going to be worth £25million would be classed as hyperbole, yes.
Though you would probably think you were being understated.
Think you're full of hyperbolics myself.
So I have passion and enthusiasm about football? I wouldn't expect a dull cynic such as yourself to be on my wavelength.
Unlike Sickboy-that guy really knows his onions
I was saying it before last season. It's based on his potential, not last season. The expectations people had of the youngsters in a struggling team was way too high.

I'm very enthusiastic about Coventry City myself, and will watch them at all opportunities to be honest, no matter what happens.
Unlike yourself.
We should probably be doing this kinda of bitching via pm, but-what do you mean? Last season? Didn't miss a single home game (apart from part of Saints in the Cup..). This season I'm working most Saturdays, but am pretty glad given how I feel about our owners! My buddy has in any case got a double ST, so he'll be dragging me along regardless. Any chance I have of being there, if I can, I will. I'll have no choice! So regardless, I will be "taking every opportunity to see them" again this season.
Means you'll have to put up with my hyperbole for a while yet.
Anyway, don't you have virgins to be sacrificing or something?
Didn't you say that you wouldn't watch City again if we sold Bigi? Something to do with principles?
