Shouldn't that be PUNSBs?
To be honest, the players don't really give a shit so all this do it for the lads is bollocks. It's just football and a job to them and they will move on.
At least if you do go to watch you have the advantage of getting used to non league crowds two seasons early. Enjoy yourself.
Shouldn't that be PUNSBs?
Sorry but it makes me feel sick !!!
Claiming liquidation is the reason to justify following the team to suxfields !!!
If you want to follow the team in northampton just do it. I haven't problem with anyone else's view on this matter. But don't spout liquidation bullshit as the reason for going !!!!!!!!!!!
You honestly think it might only be 3 years? They haven't even bought any land to build their new shed yet.
I think it is an easy way out to go and watch them and then say you're not in any way supporting SISU, you are doing exactly that by giving them your pennies.
The line about "I'm supporting the lads in the Sky Blue shirt" is complete bollocks because they don't give a shit about us as long as they get paid. The only player who has spoke out about the move being wrong is Baker and he's probably off to Forest anyway!
I'm totally gutted about not going to "Home" games next season and I won't forget the look on my 7 year old lad's face when I told him we wouldn't be going as well.
The people who will be attending are just Fisher's sheep and are just prolonging the agony, if they can't see this then they are beyond reason.
We are "Coventry" City Football Club, the clue is in the fookin title!
Who said I was justifying it?
I won't be going until I see something to believe any 'plans' are more than mere talk, and to me that'll be bricks going up on a site. Arena 2000 taught me not to be impressed by pretty pictures.
However if the club dies as a result of me not giving them money it will be, to an extent, my responsibility.
I'm aware of that, I'm not denying that possibility.
Therefore if others are not ready to take that responsibility, I for one will not spend my time comning up with idiot comments, lots of CAPITALS, incendiary words, mindless abuse, and lots of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No we are CCFC, not sure what you get from calling us another name that only exists in your mind.
Types the man (or woman) who's just filled their post with exclamation marks! Alanis Morrisette* would have a field day, don't you think?!?!
The fact that a return to Coventry would make people appreciate the club's existence, and gates would bounce.
No, there's the option of the death of the club.
Wish I could believe that.
The facts are at the moment though;
We are moving away.
We have no land secured to build a new ground.
We have no idea how long it is going to plan, design and build a new stadium.
We have no idea if the planning application would be approved.
We have no idea whether resident objection would prevent any new stadium from ever being built.
We have no idea if they can raise the money to build a new stadium.
What happens if we move away and say no planning permission is forthcoming, or they cannot raise the money?
Then what?
We are back to the fact that we will have been playing in Northampton for 3 years and have nowhere else to go under these owners.
What happens then?
Only options then for Sisu is to sell up (no-one will pay what they are asking), or they stay where they are.
It will of course be described as being temporary, but at what point does it become permanent? If we are still there after 7 years that would seem pretty permanent would it not?

Well fair play to you, and your decision, again it is a free country and I respect your choice. it a shame that you have chosen to litter your valid response with insults...oh and on the lads not giving shit - does that extend to the players that are from Coventry?
But its not Coventry anymore is it old lad......the link with the City is broken, they are no longer representing the City of Coventry are they? All it is now is a football team playing in Northampton, and they dont deserve to represent my City and nor do I want them to. I cant be arsed with football generally, but if a team is representing my City playing the game then I love it.....this Northampton outfit are just a L1 average team from somebody elses town........and that's all they are to me and a growing number of others.
You could be right, but I'm not sure.
If we're away for say 5 years (I doubt that anyone believes we'd be in a new ground in 3) there will be many people who will have simply lost the "Saturday football habit". In addition there will be a large number of youngsters who will have missed out on going to games and "getting the bug".
Add to that the impact of FFP on our drastically reduced revenues and there has to be a significant chance that when (if?) we return, we'll be in a lower league than we currently are.
So the alternative view is that we return as a League Two (maybe even Conference) club, with a withered core support.
Just another reason why (in my view) this whole "move to Northampton" plan is based on the economics of fairyland.
I haven't heard any Coventry born players say they are against the move, so that's what I've based my opinion on, I may be wrong and something might be on Twitter.
That post is completely toned down to the way I'm feeling inside and I wouldn't say Fisher's sheep is too much of an insult, that is a fact my friend, Fisher wants people to follow him and those who do, are dancing to his tune.
I'm assuming you will be heading to Sixfields next season, although you are entitled to your own choice, it is the easy way out as you are not sacrificing anything while others have to reluctantly boycott the home games for the greater good.
What reason would you give my lad as to why you will be attending games and we won't?
i think it's safe to say gates would bounce if we came back. It can be used to capture the imagination of fans, as Brighton have done with their new ground.
However, I'd agree that the concern about our owners wanting to fund, and being prepared to fund the club in the meantime are very real.
Hence the move back or bust. There's nowhere else other than Coventry you would move a club to, as there's nowhere else to have such a large populace, with so little competition for fans.
The concern shouldn't be about franchising, the concern should be whether the club comes through this game.
So the choice to me is stark. Deprive the club of cash by not going, as the club's death has been coming for a number of years so you may as well switch off the life support now as any time, or give the club some cash, keep it alive long enough to hope for the miracle cure.
Neither approach is 'wrong' however, so all this nonsense about scabs and people contributing to the death of the club by going to Northampton is emotive bollocks, any more than it would be equally stupid to jump up and down and scream about people not being proper fans for not going.
Just as it would be equally stupid to have a go at the likes of Ann Lucas for not going out of principle, of course...
The Ricoh-the offer is on the table from ACL and we can play there for free.OK - can you answer this hypothetical question for me.
Northampton decide today due to the possibility of legal action from ACL that they no longer want CCFC as tenants...Where do we play?
What i don't get is why they don't just go to away games:
Atmospheres better
Not contributing to sisu fc
Some grounds are around the same distance away
So when you turn up and there is around 1000 cov fans there, you will all just look like massive nobs
ointlaugh:
I will be going to home and away games.
The Ricoh-the offer is on the table from ACL and we can play there for free.
SISU would have no choice but to eat humble pie, and a f*/ing large slice too, as Appleton would have to do a deal with ACL
Easy way out....errrm not sure about that one, I'm going to take a risk here as I have said in previous posts I am not here to convince anyone to go or stay away, but surely going and putting up with flak from our own supporters plus the time and financial investment is not the easy way out - sitting at home listening to CWR is a lot easier.
You'll be dancing with the Devil!
There are no home games.
and that the only logical course is to get out now.
No accounting for the scabs but the vast majority of decent CCFC AND Coventry City people should (and will) have nothing to do with the SISU FC Northampton scum. This is not just a battle for a football club, this is a battle for our City and the future of football itself.
First they came for Wimbledon, but I did not speak out because I was not in the crazy gang.
Then they came for Leeds and too be honest we didn't give a shit - well it is Leeds.
But then they came for the mighty Sky Blues and some of us took it lying down but the majority got off their knees and fought, fought, fought.
Fight, fight wherever you may be we are the the boys from Coventry .......
IMHO we still will be in administration, and as such SISU will have no say in the matter.Rent free whilst in admin, SISU and ACL will not do business together - that dream is over while the current management team from both sides are in place. there is also a judicial review pending (September) if SISU decided to deal with ACL this would surely undermine their claim of state aid - so its a non starter IMO. so where are we going to play?
Dancing in the moonlight, if we start winning.
Everyone has to make their own decision as they see fit - I would however query your comment that the easier option is sitting at home listening to the radio.
Having been going to games since the late '60's, I'm going to find that very hard indeed.
