No I said 3/5 years - and lets face it, you do not have anymore insight into what is happening behind the scenes than I, I can only comment on what I know or have been told, and at this moment in time we have been told they (SISU) are looking to build another ground, I personally don't want this to happen as I like the Ricoh, but I suppose until I win the euro millions I have to sit and see how it all plays out, but I will continue to support my team, you can do what you like its a free country and I will not chastise anyone that decides to stay away, all I ask that that am allowed to do the same...I will be marching on Saturday, with my 5 year old son, I will also be taking him to Northampton.

I think it is an easy way out to go and watch them and then say you're not in any way supporting SISU, you are doing exactly that by giving them your pennies.

Liquidation means they just sell the assets they have for what they are worth. They can,t liquidate whilst in administration as that's why ACL attempted to put them there to prevent it.

I would say that SISU would be pretty selfish to liquidate the club rather than let someone else have a go.

All it is now is a football team playing in Northampton, and they dont deserve to represent my City and nor do I want them to. I cant be arsed with football generally, but if a team is representing my City playing the game then I love it.....this Northampton outfit are just a L1 average team from somebody elses town........and that's all they are to me and a growing number of others.

If we're away for say 5 years (I doubt that anyone believes we'd be in a new ground in 3) there will be many people who will have simply lost the "Saturday football habit". In addition there will be a large number of youngsters who will have missed out on going to games and "getting the bug".

Add to that the impact of FFP on our drastically reduced revenues and there has to be a significant chance that when (if?) we return, we'll be in a lower league than we currently are.

So the alternative view is that we return as a League Two (maybe even Conference) club, with a withered core support.

Just another reason why (in my view) this whole "move to Northampton" plan is based on the economics of fairyland.

Otis - I view you as a rational poster/thinker from the posts I have read of yours on this site, and all your points below are valid ones and I do not necessarily disagree, however, if we do not support the team this will decimate the already very low income the team has, it will surely be the end for CCFC. I don't want to try and convince anyone on here to go to Northampton, I until last week was not going myself, but have had a change of heart - I still want SISU out, I still want to play at The Ricoh, I will be there hopefully with thousands of other CCFC fans this Saturday for the march - I am hoping that we get out of admin, have a good start and maybe, just maybe someone comes along a buys us as a going concern with the good will of the fans, if we only get 1000 at Northampton will this entice any buyers?? I might be dreaming, my glass is half full 99% of the time, some might say I am gullible or foolish...but it is how I have rationalized, to my self.

Wish I could believe that.

The facts are at the moment though;

We are moving away.

We have no land secured to build a new ground.

We have no idea how long it is going to plan, design and build a new stadium.

We have no idea if the planning application would be approved.

We have no idea whether resident objection would prevent any new stadium from ever being built.

We have no idea if they can raise the money to build a new stadium.



What happens if we move away and say no planning permission is forthcoming, or they cannot raise the money?

Then what?

We are back to the fact that we will have been playing in Northampton for 3 years and have nowhere else to go under these owners.

What happens then?

Only options then for Sisu is to sell up (no-one will pay what they are asking), or they stay where they are.

It will of course be described as being temporary, but at what point does it become permanent? If we are still there after 7 years that would seem pretty permanent would it not?

That post is completely toned down to the way I'm feeling inside and I wouldn't say Fisher's sheep is too much of an insult, that is a fact my friend, Fisher wants people to follow him and those who do, are dancing to his tune.

I'm assuming you will be heading to Sixfields next season, although you are entitled to your own choice, it is the easy way out as you are not sacrificing anything while others have to reluctantly boycott the home games for the greater good.

What reason would you give my lad as to why you will be attending games and we won't?

Want to go to Northampton to watch My team but they don't belong there and like the rest of them just want our money have no love for my beloved Sky Blues.

Northampton decide today due to the possibility of legal action from ACL that they no longer want CCFC as tenants...Where do we play? with less than 4 weeks away to the first game of the season, It is clear from SISU/Otium (owners) that The Ricoh will never be an option, so do we forfeit all our games this season get dumped out of the league, is that what you and others on here want?

The time to support the team is now - and we can deal with all the other shit as we go through the season.

However, I'd agree that the concern about our owners wanting to fund, and being prepared to fund the club in the meantime are very real.

The concern shouldn't be about franchising, the concern should be whether the club comes through this game.

I think that we agree that there would be a "bounce" if we came back, I suppose what I was questioning was how significant the bounce would be and how low the starting point would be. To (hopefully) exaggerate the point, a bounce of 1,000 from a starting point of 500 wouldn't leave us in a very good place!

In my view, the purpose of NOPM isn't to "switch off the life support", but is to persuade SISU that this (in my view) nonsensical plan is going to cost them significantly more than they have budgeted , that they are not at "the bottom" of TF's "business cycle" and that the only logical course is to get out now.

I won't be going to Sixfields (even if we draw Man Utd in the Cup....) and I hope that other people will take the same view, but I completely agree that comments about "scabs" etc (obviously except for Brian's) are unhelpful and probably counter-productive.

Rent free whilst in admin, SISU and ACL will not do business together - that dream is over while the current management team from both sides are in place. there is also a judicial review pending (September) if SISU decided to deal with ACL this would surely undermine their claim of state aid - so its a non starter IMO. so where are we going to play?

The problem is, their getting out could well involve liquidation.

Their past track record in similar situations says liquidation is the step if they fail to get what they want (whatever that is!);

The wider consequences for any other investments they have says that liquidation would be the preferred option if they don't get what they want. Negotiating positions only work if the threat is real.

From their POV the bigger picture requires risk of a loss to gain profits, and that also includes what happens to our club once they've decided they've exhausted all avenues.

Now, as I said above, ever since the dark, tedious days of McGinnity's unofficial administration, this club has been cancer-ridden, hopeless and staggering around like a drunken loon stripping at kareoke. Liquidation might be a good thing.

For those who do feel that (like me), there's an obvious option. For those who have had enough, there's a natural option to take.

All I ask is the potential consequences are thought through. If it's a risk people think worth taking, then they should of course do what they think is right. As I said, the burden of proof is on them to show they will actually build a stadium, not for me to take it on trust, so I'm not going. Plus it's just not fun, and supporting a team's supposed to be fun in some sense, even if they lose a lot!

And whatever happens, if the club comes back we need that bounce to be as big as possible, if the club dies we need its replacement to have the best chance of success possible... and both those options are more likely if we haven't backed one side or another into a corner.

IMHO we still will be in administration, and as such SISU will have no say in the matter.
Appleton will be forced to do a deal with ACL.

Like the previous poster, there is no way listening to CWR is the easy option, I used to smoke and can only compare giving up fags to giving up City "home" games.

I've been supporting them for 35 years so it will not be easy, with the money saved I hope to get to a few more away games.
