Coventry City will play in Northampton I do not know any team called Coventry Cobblers, get over it either support the team or do your shopping on Saturday, I have my opinion and you have yours ffs, what is wrong with people on here...if you don't agree then your daft (or much worse)...well let me say this IF we get to the play offs at Wembely I hope you ALL who have slated me and others on here for being honest, stick to your non support and stay away...and that goes for the next year if we make to the Championship, your trying to hurt SISU but your hurting the one thing you profess to love, it does not make sense...your support wont be missed.

I have read many comments saying until SISU go they will not spend one penny more...so if we got there they would have to stick to their promise surely, otherwise missing out on all of this season is for nothing, if at a sniff of a final JPT/Play Offs they crumble...

I saw this thread earlier today and resisted the urge to immediately respond- perhaps regrettably valour has beaten my traditional discretionary nature.
Perhaps I should rise above, however;
35 years consecutive season ticket support sees me somewhat angered at the thought of being labelled a 'scab' should I choose to make that 36 years, 37, 38 (possibly 39 and 40). Like many, the sky blues chose me, a legacy of late grandfather and late father- genetically connected to this 'sky blue' cross to bear?
Like many I am faced with the head vs heart impossible decision.

This thread is full of contradictions. Those people who claim they want to save the club are also urging people not to attend games at Sixfields? I'm not sure how they reconcile that. So what do they think this is going to achieve? Starving the club of cash will a. make any prospect of even moderate success on the pitch impossiblr and b. make the prospect of SISU liquidating the job lot a good deal more likely.
I will probably abstain from attending games in Northampton, but I do so in the knowledge that my actions could play a part in destorying the club completely. The idea is to force SISU out or to the negotiating table based on making their relocation unfeasible. If there is an attendance of under 1,000, is their stay in Northampton feasible? No, it's not.

ACL's reason for attempting to put the club in administration was so that they could choose their own administrator and then force SISU out...I don't believe it was anything to do with stopping SISU liquidating the club....IMO...
How can you force SISU back to the negotiating table if ACL refuse to recognise them as the rightful owners of the football club? Strangely though, many people urge ACL 'stand their ground', which pretty much guarantees that no talks about playing games at the Ricoh can take place. The longer ACL insist that they will only speak to the administrator, the longer this farce continues.
I'd say that the idea that SISU can be forced back to the negotiating table is a little naive. Forcing them out? Possibly yes, but what does 'out' mean? Do they sell, or do they liquidate? I believe that the latter is at least possible, so the 'not one penny more' idea is a massive risk and could bring the whole thing crashing down (for good).
Perhaps I'm wrong. I respect your opinion even if I disagree with it, and your arguments are well thought out and reasoned - but even you must acknowledge that the use of the word 'scab' and the inflamatory language used by some towards those that plan to attend is unhelpful?

Passions are inflamed and it does feel somewhat to me that those prepared to go to Northampton do vindicate the move and make things a lot easier for SISU. It feels a bit like betrayal and lets SISU off the hook to an extent. I don't think they're "proper, loyal supporters" as many like to suggest-in an inflammatory way
And I hate people who say "oh, I don't care about politics, I just want to watch football..." as that kind of apathy and ignorance leads to all sorts of abuse by those in power (in all walks of life..). I'm sure Linnell is right and there will be a few thousand people who don't go on internet forums who will go regardless.

This was always going to be an issue (should we go to Northampton or not) and generate a lot of lively debate and any other club's supporters would be divided as well.
The only way to fight the these Villians is to cut off the supply and force them into a corner, if people follow them over to Northampton it will just prolong the agony and shite we have had to put up with for the past 10 or so years!

A shit supported club !!! A club that has been Feckin shit for most of my 50 years, a club that has had no top 6 finish for over 40 years, a club that has and still is taking us for granted year after year ,yet still averaged 10k in the 3rd div. I would call that great support !!!!

Population wise, coventry is one of the largest. Add nuneaton , Bedworth , leamington and kenilworth, we should have filled our ground every week.

I think the very idea you would not support your team that you love so much is apathetic.
While I share some concerns about the end result of getting to a point 3 years from now and owning our own stadium is still a big IF that does not preclude me from watching my football club go through the riggers of the football league week in week out.
SISU have rightly ben derided for the stance they have taken but regardless of what people are saying the intent is to return to Coventry asap at it's own stadium as negotiating to stay at the Ricoh has become an impossible task and unless the Ricoh is more supportive of the football club and more overt to sharing income streams specifically generated by the 10's of thousands of sky blue fans then I can't see it changing anytime soon.
I would have thought that while SISU keep pumping money into the football club for the next 3 years knowing the gates at Northampton will be a quarter or less than the Ricoh site you would want to support them as much as you can in the hope they see the evidence that their plan is worthwhile? Show such distain and lack of support and they may just start wondering why they should continue with their plan?
