With it now confirmed there are no plans for future talks.

Really do now feel those attending Sixfields should put a deadline on two things.

A date by which

1) A genuine financial explanation of how building a new stadium is more economically viable than signing a long term rent deal.

1) They should see plans, land bought, planning permission gained and work carried.

If they get to this date without either things on show a total boycott of Sixfields should happen.

Also think all these groups should unite under the one aim of getting CCFC back to Cov ASAP.

On uniting their first aim should be to get someone to independently value the Ricoh.

If the club can argue a sound economic plan of why it is financially viable to build a new stadium.

Pressure should be put on both sides to find out why they won't consider buying or selling at the independent valuation.

So we get back before 5 years and we know we are actually coming back to a stadium in Coventry.

Not because I say so. However I imagine some are going expecting it is temporary and in the background a resolution is getting sorted.

Be it a return to the Ricoh or a new stadium.

Common sense would suggest if one gets ruled out, then they would want a date when they need to know for definite the other is happening.

Otherwise they are just aimlessly plodding along to Sixfields. I can't imagine the people who attend are that naive.

Yeah 5 years 35 miles away whilst paying 1.2 million in interest to SISU, building up a potential further 10 million needing covering, with the potential false promise of a new stadium is a small price to pay to avoid paying 150-400k rent a year.

Agree with a deadline by which time you want to see plans, planning permission agreed, a site bought and a legally binding document signed with a developer.

Would you count a Sisu run company separate from CCFC as "unite stadium with club"?

What if they then sell the club and keep the stadium?

What if they sell to someone who then sells the stadium on it's own?

It's not possible to have a private company legally bound to a property AFAIK (please someone who is a lawyer come in here). The best you can hope for is a not for profit owning the freehold and a peppercorn rent for the club (see Chelsea and Stanford Bridge). To be honest, apart from the rent, that's what we had. And the rent was solved long ago as soon as the club asked for it. I'd like to see them go further to be honest and would support a campaign against ACL to offer even better terms, but selling anything (ACL/the ricoh/etc) to private hands won't guarantee the club benefits.

I always said i would be happy (maybe not the right word) to move away for one season whilst this mess is to be cleared up. This isnt clearly going to happen within the next 6 months, we need communciation from SISU about what their plans are for the 'new stadium'. The problem is some people have brought ST so they are not going to suddenly stop attending.

The only leverage SISU have at this particular moment is the chance of promotion, once that extinguishes then support will drop off too.

Unfortunately, now they've seen some light following the court decision today, SISU will really dig in and try to bleed the council into submission. I fear they will demand a cheap freehold, something the council really cannot do in fairness to the voters/ratepayers. It looks very bleak for a return home in the next couple of years, just IMHO of course.

AS A THOUGHT....

If the council brought the loan from Yorks Bank which I believe is the nub of SISU's arguement for £14 million, can ACL not get a loan from somewhere else (assuming a bank would lend at a favourable rate) and pay off the council. Would that solve the issue regarding public money bail out, leaving the JR pointless?

Strangely enough I go to watch a Coventry City team play football

I have done this for over 50 years. In that time the Club has had several owners - few have actually benefitted the Club. I have seen far more bad seasons than good but I still go

On Boxing Day we play Peterborough at Sixfields and I will be there. On Boxing Day 1963 we played the same fixture in Peterborough and I was there

It is not the ground or the Club owners I have followed but the Team.

The council can and should therefore wait until the market picks up before deciding if they want to sell.

Is there a point where you feel you need to sacrifice your own pleasure of watching the team. Over doing what is best for the future of Coventry City football club?

Or do you think what you do is irrelevant to the future of CCFC?

Or do you think by attending you are doing the best for CCFC?

Or do you not think about any of the above, and just going regardless, as long as you can get there, wherever Cov play?

I can recall going to Walsall on a cold foggy friday night by two very slow trains in the 1960's. I stood on the bank of the old ground and watched the mist roll in so I only saw one half of the pitch in the second half. I think the score was 0-0 and then made a cold return journey and got home about mid night. I dont think I am going to change!
