Really? a disgrace ? with all the money he has put in. Were we not once called Singers FC? We were never known as the Sky Blues til Jimmy Hill and derek robins wanted us to be known as such. At the end of the day the club still has Hull in its title and a guy that is trying his best to make them a bigger club competing in the premier league seems a small price to pay from where we sit

I don't agree, it's a bloody Americanism, having to have a stupid nickname forced upon you like that. He either buys into an age old historical football club and respects it's name and traditions or leaves alone altogether ! Football and its fans have been fucked about with enough already !

Singers FC between 1883 and 1898. I doubt the fanbase (such as it was) had built up a strong loyalty to the name in that 15 year period, and changing the name to match the City the club play(ed) in was sensible. Changing an established club's name of 100+ years by adding a wanky american style nickname is a disgrace, yes.

Also, regards the Sky Blues. We changed our colours regularly before 1962 so again there was no attachment to any given colour. If we were to change now (after 52 years) it would be a disgrace as many generations of fans have never known any different.

Please tell me you can see the difference?

Of course I can see the difference. Happy to see the difference, however it is a change that in my opinion does not really take too much away from the heritage. Actually I cannot see why the bloke doesn't have the sense to do the big compromise and call them Hull City Tigers. The point I was trying to make clearly unsuccessfully, that in the great scheme of things does it really matter that much? The club is still there, still known as Hull (for many many years thats all it was referred to as anyway) the owner is by all accounts pumping loads in and making things happen in a positive way. I think I would support him, and then still call them Hull City to all my mates and to anyone else that I talked to( if it really bothered me that much) Same as I still call Newcastle ground St james'Park

Although the Cardiff and Hull situations relative to CCFC seem less important and more cosmetic, I think it's right to support Hull and Cardiff fans in their protests, imagine how outraged people were when Paul Fletcher wanted to change the club logo.

isnt it all relative?? we would be kicking up a fuss if this was happening to us but its just that we have bigger issues in comparison. I do think there is an element of 'selling out' from Cardiff and a certain extent to Hull. Both teams have got to the promiseland (not for long) on the back of their owners capital. Both changes are linked and symbolic (for a valid reason) to the far east i.e. colour red and tigers.

I think there were more who accepted it due to success than who rejected it. Fans are fickle things.....

I am unaware of any reduction in attendances at Cardiff or Hull due to the changes, although I may be wrong.
