Are we spending too much money after years of paltry investment?! The wage bill must be phenomenal 😳

Laurent Delorge ?
Bit before my time - Obviously I know of Roussell but was only made aware that Clement even played for us after he got the Rangers gig

Funnily enough I was in Gent in Belgium over the summer and a local recognised my top purely for the fact they flogged Roussell to us

I do hope this does not end like Preston buying Bayliss. Promising star costs money, languishes in the U21's, doesn't fulfill his promise, sold at a loss 3 years later.

The key thing is how much of the fee is upfront as that is the risk element.

It's possible, but that's the risk. I suppose the Hamer money pays for circa 6 more risks. Just need 1 to come off.

Judging by his twitter post it sounds like it could keep him out for some time as well

Would be a real shame. It feels like a proper load this season could be his breakout. Such a shame when young players get injured at this time of the season.

Our scouts are really leaving no stones unturned to unearth him in the French league 2. Impressive scouting

A further thought that 3 out of 4 signings are a bit left field. Rudoni makes complete sense - O'Hare replacement. But

- EMC, a marquee signing, plays on the left where we already have a marquee signing
- BTA is a midfielder in a side now choc full of midfielders (unless Palmer goes)
- Fred Bassett - another striker.

I know nothing about transfer strategy :(

However the variable we tend not to take enough account of is 'availability'. Is the player we want available? Maybe the right defensive midfielder prepared to play 2nd fiddle to Sheaf is not available. But an additional striker who we will probably need in 12-24 months time is. So that is who gets bought.

BTA is a striker not a midfielder
