Interesting that he was offered 3.5 million but wants another 1 million so turned it down - basically 4.5 million gives you a club lock stock and barrel with a stadium - Its also noted that norman also purchased port vale for 1.2 million and has invested 3 million to date -
Whatever the figure our consortium has offered from reported 7 million going up to 20 million - The latter sounds like a fabulous offer as you only get the name for your money

He's a fan of owning football grounds, isn't he.

The last I read he wasn't selling the ground with it, unless he has changed now.

The ground is seperate - in another NS entity

At one point was selling the "Club" , Ground and F&B rights seperately

He would rent the ground to whoever bought the Club - c£150k per season was the then price

All this was some years back though

Apparently at Nuneaton borough he only owns the pitch and stands but doesn’t own access to it or surrounding areas, the local rugby club does so there’s one sticking point with us moving there.

Offer on the 1st March start of the month

The owners of Synectics Solutions have revealed they have had a £3.5m offer for Port Vale rejected.

Carol and Kevin Shanahan say their offer, which is for both the club and the Vale Park ground, was turned down by the Valiants' owner Norman Smurthwaite this morning.
The offer is the latest from the Shanahans who first declared an interest in the club in the 2016/17 season. They say they won't be improving their new £3.5m bid, but say Smurthwaite is looking for in excess of £1m more for the club.

Their offer includes £500,000 immediately and a further £3m over five years. Smurthwaite would also keep a £400,000 instalment of the Jordan Hugill sell-on clause believed to be due next year.

I'm sure Robbie Williams has a spare £4.5m to buy the club, unless he has pissed it all up the wall?

Interesting, he must have changed his approach now then!

Think he is looking to get out of football? or is he just wanting to own the land that football grounds use!!!

Along with whom is the question?
Have the Trust & WASPS ruled them selves out yet?
This is the problem with going public that you’ve made a bid but refusing to say who is involved. Especially when the likes of Dale Evans have previously been in the consortium and Ranson has reappeared.

Manor Park it is then.

Or he ends up our new owner...
He told us that if he had of known CCFC was in trouble he would have brought them years ago.
Not sure he would bother now, dont think he has what Joy requires.
Then again maybe he has a partner?

He didn't notice when we were playing Ben Mackay and Tom Bates, because we couldn't afford the appearance bonuses, then?!?

Not entirely convinced he's what we'd want anyway. He does have a liking for splitting grounds off from their clubs...

He claims his advisers did not tell him he was buying a football club complete with team , just a venue suitable for development
He is that sort of person

That has to be one pretty stupid person. Plus an equally thick person to admit it!

Here is an original thought from a PV fan
I’m wondering what Stoke Council are thinking about this current shitstorm. Losing Vale could actually kill off a lot of businesses in an already struggling Burslem. Could they find suitable land to build Community Stadium 2 in the area?
Like Burslem Park?

Black and Gold revelations - Page 4
Yes they must publicise it to any new possible owners that the supporters will not support any buyer who does not purchase the ground. Can they only afford 2.7 million to buy the club?
We will not be held to ransom by that evil tyrant any longer and allow him to get away with keeping the ground.
Any new owner must realise that they need to keep the supporters happy or else they could end up being despised and hated like Smurthwaite.Any losses have been caused by his own incompetence.
Coventry have shown what can happen when the club doesn’t own the ground.
He paid 1.2 million for the club and ground
so can’t be allowed to to walk all over us and play his silly games.
He has already stated that there will be no debts if the club is placed into administration so there is no debtors to pay and the club can be bought cheaply.
I don’t think the Football League will allow him to put the club into administration considering the large Hugill payments he has received in the last 15 months which were actually paid to the football club.

Doesn't look like a happy situation, but on one point I can't see how the FL can prevent him from putting his own business into administration.

There's nothing in that situation which would give me any confidence should he get involved with CCFC
