My gut feeling says a Boro v Sunderland final with Boro to win overall. If we can beat them over two legs though, I’d back us at Wembley.

Propaganda/ Fake news 😀. I just hope we progress. The positive vibe on here is starting to wobble a bit! We all hope. In my view, if the team is on form, there are no controversial decisions against us and we see commitment on the pitch, then ill be ok…

I honestly think our fans play a huge part in this too tbh. Other teams will also have big numbers but they don’t have the noise we create. We have always done well in the important games since Robins’ return.
If we get past Boro (think we will) then I think we’ll get Luton in the final. Our fans will out-noise them which will carry us through.

Here’s hoping and dreaming.

Yep. Relegation zone 15 games in (SISU decided to sell!); bottom half still at 30 games. Only got into the playoff zone at game 44.

We have the beating of Middlesbrough over 2 legs. Their style of play suits us. They also have a few injuries.

Would prefer Luton in the final. Our defence should hold them and the big pitch would suit us going forward.
They’d fancy their chances against us. We haven’t beaten them since the 3-0 away win in League 2.

I'm treating this as a bonus. I thought at the start of the season we would finish slightly higher than last year, maybe 10th.

So at the minute not nervous at all. I hope the lads feel the same.

Here's something to be nervous about though.

I was just reading that in 2016 the Riverside Stadium had to have £5m renovations to bring it up to PL standards. I would expect the CBS to need some work to host PL football.

Would Ashley put his hand in his pocket??

The Boro game plan will be simple enough in both games, nullify Hamer and Gyo. Problem with that is we both know that’s the plan.

We'll beat Boro by the odd goal over 2 legs.
The final against Sunderland will be delayed by 15 mins due to Sunderland fans arriving late and congestion outside. In the last 15 mins we will score twice to come from behind to win 1-2. A huge Jimmy hill banner will appear out of nowhere behind our goal.

We’ve taken the most points from the play of teams this year.

Luton W1 D5 L1 pts 8
Boro W2 D1 L3 pts 7
Sund. W1 D3 L2 pts 6

Cov W2 D4 L0 pts 10

We’re the team that is hardest to beat.

The game is a free hit for us! Nobody outside cov think we can progress. If we don’t make it what a season we have had! Just want Victor, Hamer & Sheaf to shine and BNC will have the best game of his life

And two bites at the cherry, we are very dangerous opposition.

Also I think being away for the second leg helps.
There is more riding on the second leg, which will make for a more nervous atmosphere amongst the home fans.

In theory, the team who’s home in the second leg has the advantage but I fancy us to win at home and setup a huge fixture at the Riverside.

Even in L2, I’m sure most people (including me) felt we needed a home win v Notts County to progress. We drew then battered them away!

With Away goals not counting, the idea of home 2nd leg advantage is slightly weakened in my eyes.

Just stay in the game first leg. Pressure all on the home side in the second. Frustrate the crowd and pressure builds.

Any home win for us and the pressure would be on them. That would be 3 games so far this season between us. 2 wins and a draw to us.

They know we're dangerous on the break. But they still push forward in numbers and leave space at the back. Yes they score a lot of goals but they also let a lot in.

I'm wondering if they might try sitting back at our place and hope for a draw. But they don't have defensive players. But whatever it should be 2 good games. Two attacking sides so if one isn't attacking the other side will be.

Ryan Giles thinks we are frightened of them

Wishful thinking I suspect.

I reckon the fear will be from their side, trying to work out how they'll nullify the speed and power of our counter attacks. Hamer and Gyokeres will be the focus of their planning this week with a fear that if they don't get it right there's a real danger they could be having to chase a two or three goal deficit in the second leg. That would be the nightmare scenario for them, against probably the best counter attacking team in the league.

To be fair, he really didn't say that at all, it's just typical clickbaity, mischief making headlines by the Telegraph.

Exactly it’s ridiculous. All he said was ‘we fear no one’, he didn’t single us out. What do we expect him to say, he’s petrified of us😂
