How is my comment divisive when it’s fact?
Please lease enlighten me with your intelligence as you clearly think you’re the Aristotle of the Coventry City fan base.
Whilst you’re at it tell me what you’re doing to help this plight we current find ourselves in? Were you the one at the front of the pitiful Walsall march banging the drum?
Council response:
A joint statement from Leader of Coventry City Council Councillor George Duggins and Coun Allan Andrews, acting leader of the opposition Conservative group, says: “Coventry City Council has been clear in its message for more than two years now – we are willing to talk to the football club once the legal process has ended.
“The football club keeps saying it wants to meet with us but what would the purpose of the meeting be?
“If it is to come and tell us what the football club means to the people of this city then we are already well aware of that.
“If it is to say that they do not have the power to stop the legal process then what is the point of the meeting?
“What is noticeable from the football club’s statement following the EFL’s announcement today is the complete lack of any mention of their owners or their role in this.
“The club seems to think that everyone apart from SISU has a responsibility for the future of the football club yet we all know it has always been in their gift to end this.
“We suggest that rather than coming to meet us, the football club lobbies SISU to take responsibility and end this long and drawn out process so we can all move on.”
smell the coffee ?i'm still confident we'll be fine and at the Ricoh (may just be blind optimism though!)
I'd put money on it... not the first time we've almost been kicked out... quietly confident theres just a lot of games going on in the presssmell the coffee ?
well saidThink this sums it up
I’m doing the same thing that I’m doing about the weather: accepting there’s not a lot I can do, hoping for the best and planning for the worst.
You’re the one assuming insight into the minds of others. Why would someone who wants the club to fold not just walk away?
IMO it's actually got to the point where for many of those who find themselves under the Wasps/Council banner/s would rather the club go under if it meant they were rid of SISU. Sentimentality associated with the club and the city got thrown out of the window years ago.
It isn’t just 10k people this affects. It is a lot more than this.
The fact that we are at this point and there is still a large chunk of the fanbase who just want to moan about the owners is thoroughly depressing. Yes we all know they are appalling owners but there are more important matters. If you want to be depressed just have a look at the replies on Facebook. We’re fucked. The fan base is fractured beyond repair. Nobody has a clue how to get out of it.
Has a date actually been given? I think its mostly been guesswork based on how long other cases are taking to deal with.when is the court action answer supposed to come in?
This is a simple one to sort out FFS.
If you dont want no deal then sign the fucking deal....Oh sorry thats Brexit
As I say this is a simple one to sort out FFS.
Sisu - If you want to stay and survive call of the legal action and sign a deal.
Hope that clarifies it!
Edited for you. This is a simple one to sort out FFS.

I can't imagine any company agreeing to a contract that contained clauses preventing them invoking a legal option if required, also can't imagine any lawyer letting that through without huge alarm bells sounding.I would think that Wasps would want a water tight undertaking from OEG, ARVO, SBS&L and SISU that this is the end of all legal cases dealing with Wasps gaining ownership of the stadium. You just know that is not going to be easy to obtain.
They will try to find a way the wrangling, scheming, slimey fuckers!!! Proper pissed off with this now! Just want to support my team and enjoy the ‘beautiful game’ once more.
Remember when all we had to worry about was a bigger club nicking our best players?
I agree. I think the wider fan base world wide must be several times bigger than 10k.
Don't think soIf the Court reject the appeal. Can SISU appeal again?
How do you put a figure on it? It’s not just season ticket holders. It’s not just the aggregate of all who have attended a game this year. It’s everyone who has ever supported the club. The club’s demise would affect everyone who has ever had a dad, brother, girlfriend, mate, whatever, who has ever supported the team. It would affect everyone in Coventry in so far as the city would no longer be represented by a league football club. It would likewise affect everyone in Warwickshire in the same way. It would affect business when the name Coventry meant less than it does now and certainly less than it did when we won the cup.
SISU have only got themselves to blame, and are in this mess by trying to force a hostile takeover by trying to put acl Into admin by not paying the rent, getting the club relegated (twice) and not buying the shares in the stadium when they had the chance 10 years ago.
Yup!We’re fucked.
And there we have it. After months of anyone who dared suggest the reason the trust wouldn't put any pressure on Wasps or the council was down to a potential takeover being called an idiot the trust themselves show it to be correct. We understand that an offer for the Club was made last year and is still ‘on the table.
Another disgusting statement from the council. If the council genuinely appreciated what the club means to people they would be doing something to ensure its survival.“If it is to come and tell us what the football club means to the people of this city then we are already well aware of that.
And there we have it. After months of anyone who dared suggest the reason the trust wouldn't put any pressure on Wasps or the council was down to a potential takeover being called an idiot the trust themselves show it to be correct.
Does anyone really think that if people on social media and forums like this can spot it that SISU haven't?
Trust statement
The Sky Blue Trust notes that the English Football League have notified CCFC that the Club has until 5 March 2019 to update the EFL Board on the Club’s home ground for the 2019/20 season. The EFL have stated to the Club that, if a satisfactory solution is not found within the next two months, an Extraordinary General Meeting of Clubs will be held ton 25 April 2019 to consider CCFC’s expulsion from the League. This is seriously alarming - but not surprising - news.
The Trust has been warning about imminent homelessness of Coventry City FC for some time. The latest statement from the EFL means that our home game versus Shrewsbury Town at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 28 April may be our last game in Coventry - not just for the 2018/19 season but for ever.
To avert this rapidly approaching disaster, the Trust calls upon SISU to put an end to all court action involving Wasps and Coventry City Council, to enable urgent discussions to take place over future use of the Ricoh Arena by CCFC. SISU could also help to resolve the crisis once and for all by agreeing to sell the Club to new owners who would secure a long-term sustainable fitter for the Sky Blues in Coventry. We understand that an offer for the Club was made last year and is still ‘on the table.
We also call upon Wasps and Coventry City Council to do everything in their power to come to the negotiating table to deliver an agreed solution to this crisis. The real victims of CCFC’s expulsion from the league would be the Sky Blue community - its loyal fans for whom their football club is a vital part of their lives. We implore all those involved to think selflessly and act urgently to save our club from extinction.
