They basically say the stats suggest we'll improve but this is where stats only tell you so much. If they'd watched us every game they'd know the reality.Top 6 defence!
We might have been rated too highly but not by the extent we should be hovering around the relegation zone. Was a good analysis but you can tell they’d seen rather little of us when they’re calling for Mason Clark to replace Wright. They also haven’t considered that Simms’ purple patch was more of a blip and he has mostly been very underwhelming.
Enjoy their podcast very much but they rated us far too highly at the beginning of the season.
I thought we’d be good for a playoff challenge and it’s surprised me to see how far off this team looks from that. Don’t think these podcasters have actually watched our games in full either.Of course, I predicted us to be 11th and was slaughtered on here!
They are right about messing around with keepers though.
He didn’t do anything that deserved being dropped for.Playing devils advocate here, but they are only right to most people who hate Wilson. I don't agree in principle with changing goalkeepers really, but Dovin has done nothing to suggest he is head and shoulders above Wilson. He's young, so might take some time to come good, but he's another one who has a high transfer fee and no instant impact.

Goalkeeper is generally the one position really not to be fucked around with for rotation like other positions. Collins had to be moved out because he was chucking the ball into his own goal every week-Dovin hasn’t made a glaring error.Doesn't change my points.
People who back Wilson i'm convinced aren't watching. He doesn't even pass the eye test but for those that love stats he comes up short there too.Playing devils advocate here, but they are only right to most people who hate Wilson. He’s been good at times this year. Against Sheff Wed was not one of these times. Indeed it was glaringly obvious why we signed Dovin, a ‘footballing’ goalkeeper.People who back Wilson i'm convinced aren't watching. What?Playing devils advocate here, but they are only right to most people who hate Wilson. What?
You don't agree with changing goalkeepers, but because Dovin didn't set the world alight in 6 games it was right to drop him? How does that logic work?
"Come good"? He didn't do anything wrong to warrant being dropped in the first place.Playing devils advocate here, but they are only right to most people who hate Wilson. No one was saying he has been anything special. Just pointing out how stupid it is to sign a new keeper and drop him after 6 games when he's done nothing wrong, for the very player we know isn't good enough. You're completely missing the point. That logic doesn't work. You made it up in your head after you have once again failed to read a set of posts properly.
I haven't said Dovin should have been dropped. I have just pointed out that he's been nothing special and therefore the meltdown is a bit over the top.
Have you tried the Facebook forum? I think you might be better suited to it.

Hope he replaces the clown Wilson next game and then stays in the team.

So we largely agree then.I've largely agreed with that very point. Again, if you read what I have written you would know this.
Some of you are getting your knickers in a twist over the goalkeeping situation and getting so irate you are taking things I haven't said to build an argument that isn't real.
All I have said is that Dovin has not shown anything to suggest he is standing out, and whilst it wouldn't have been my choice to drop him, I hardly think it is the end of the world either. Some of you are going on as if Dovin is prime Buffon, and Wilson is Sky Blue Sam. Neither of which are true.
How about he's in for differing reasons, like team cohesion, not much evidence of that, but?So we largely agree then.
Wilson has been significantly worse than Dovin though. He's conceded 0.36 more goals than expected per 90. Dovin 0.08. Wilson was one of the worst keepers in the league statistically last season, and based on his 3 games so far ranks 26th/28 this season.
It's just a nonsensical decision from Robins that was easy to get right. And imo is a consistent mistake he's making - too many changes.
Surely to justify a change of goalkeeper one has to prove he is better/worse than another? If we start with Dovin in goal that means the place is his to lose. I don’t see what he did to merit losing his spot.I've largely agreed with that very point. Again, if you read what I have written you would know this.

What did Robins say as to why Dovin was dropped?Robins was pretty clear why he made the change. You can agree or disagree with his reasoning but its clear he didn't drop Dovin because he considered him to be making mistakes.

I’d rather have a goalie that can save the ball. Was about having someone vocal at the back.
Only clean sheet this season?I’d rather have a goalie that can save the ball.
I think you would have kept one against powder puff BlackburnOnly clean sheet this season?
