Can you send some of your rain in this direction please. We are parched, the grass is turning orange/straw coloured. We've been in the high 20's low 30's for almost a month now, and when you factor in the humidity factor, that adds another 2-3 degrees on top of that.

Don't know how our posters from the really hot climes can tolerate the 40's and so on that they get.

Just an overnight thunderstorm would be okay....please.....please!

I got soaked last night, fishing off my local pier! It was worth it though! ...... 8 x Bass, 17 x Mackerel and 1 x Pollack! I'm off out again in a while for another couple of hours fishing! Ah! Retirement! This is the life! ;)

I was gonna complain but I guess at least we're nearer the 'Mecca of football' (Ricoh) than you lot. Every cloud and all that :)

Well my main computer is my Vic20....still works pretty good for an early 80's model! My printer/Scanner/fax works really well considering it's an early 90's model. And....I've got the nicest looking igloo on the whole street. So there!

Any more picking on me and I'm gonna tell!

I also have quite the collection of LaserDiscs....Did you have them over there? They were the precursor to DVD's, looks like a DVD but about 12" in diameter.

I guess some of these younger guys just don't get it do they Houch? I've got a 1947 Sears gramaphone (the large cabinet type) which plays 78's.....only! Worth a few bucks as well!

How did it get to this?....all I asked for was some British rain to come back eastwards about 3,500 miles.

Did you know Houch?

Not many Brits know that Canada gets a fantastic summer due to the fact the southern-most part of Canada is on the same latitude as Nice in the South of France. London, where I live is about 20 miles north of that point. I didn't know that either 'til I came here. Of course we get some brutal winters, typically -10 to -12 degrees C.

So it is a lovely summer and a white Christmas?

Correcto Mundo Nick. Starts snowing in mid-December and doesn't leave the ground until end of March as it's continuously below zero. That's why the Canucks had to invent a lot of winter games. I had to snowblow about 90 inches of snow last winter, with the heaviest snowfall of about 26" over a 24 hour period. Luckily, we don't shut the place down very often as we are somewhat prepared for the white stuff (unlike the UK), however the 26" snowfall above meant that the roads could not be cleared fast enough by the snow crews so it resulted in a 'snow-day'. (Everyone stays at home...yippee)
