I would hope so, but you can see it now, we didn't want to sell him but it was to good to turn down, unfortunately it didn't give us time to get anyone else inAnything in the post by the other “ITK” that the club are planning to leave it as late as possible to sell him/another player? I would think Robins would be keen to get it done as quickly as possible, if the right money is on the table.
Undisclosed of courseI would hope so, but you can see it now, we didn't want to sell him but it was to good to turn down, unfortunately it didn't give us time to get anyone else in
To get the highest priceIt doesn’t make sense, why would the club choose to leave it late as possible?

What did Burnley bid?
No deal unless they add a Pot NoodlePacket of crisps and a mars bar.

Don't know the figure but it's pretty unlikely we will accept a bid anytime soon
The lad's contract has two years to run
We aren't in desperate financial straights
So we can hold out until very late in the window and hope that whichever club(s) are interested make us an offer we can't refuse
Great! Just hope our replacements are in on this too and don’t go elsewhere?
I am not saying it's good but it's why they would do itGreat! Just hope our replacements are in on this too and don’t go elsewhere?
Even without C O'H (let's imagine he was injured for a second); we would have Sheaf, Eccles, Kelly, Palmer, Allen, Hamer and Howley available. It's an area we have some depth in.
We don't know the financial situation, we never will, hopefully SISU surprise us and we keep everyone and bring in a few more quality loansI've been assured we can't afford to turn the gas on by many on here though and we HAVE to sell ?
We're paying a player that's wages are unsustainable by all accounts
All that aside , it's not easy to get another COH is it ? Special player
Agree mate; can't think of a similar player, and we all love him here, but I thought the world had ended when Ian Wallace left. We invest in our heroes, but there is always another just round the corner.
if we want to challenge this season and I beleive we do, then the core of the side must be kept together at all cost. trying to replace someone would set us back months as that player beds in. And what would we replace with? It would have to be a money signing. So what's the point? He's happy and frankly I would think looking forward to the challenge this season for a promtion run. Burnley, smaller club, x premier league breifly and not guaranteed to be in the running...why go there. he may be offered better terms but that is short lived. Too many players jump at what they think is a good move and turns out a wrong un! McCallum, back in our league and not in Norwich plans still? Agents fight for money moves and fail to work better towards the players needs. Come January or next summer O'Hare could get the move he really wants. I think we have done well and hung onto our best. the season is days away, think January will be the telling time depending on our position.

You can’t have it both waysIf it's such a foolproof strategy why didn't Hull, Swansea, or Huddersfield leave it until deadline day to sell their best players then?
It's an absurd tactic with far more risk attached to it than reward.
My Mum came from Nelson too,I remember Cov losing to a late goal against Burnley about 1975 time. She didn’t half take the mick when i got home after the gameGeez, there's more headless chickens on here than we used to have in midfield!!
btw my mother came from Nelson, which is now a suburb of Burrnleh and she left in 1936, so it's been a shithole for a very long time!

The rats wear overalls in Burnley….that is putting it politely.

What? Surely you realise it's an idiotic strategy. Not only is there no guarantee interested parties will bid over the odds for our players, but if a bid is accepted the club is left with zero replacement in toe.
If they're that set on gambling and driving up the odds of their primary assets then they may as well just wait until January and hope one of the three have an incredible first half of the season.
Because SISU would sacrifice a season for a couple of extra mill?...It doesn’t make sense, why would the club choose to leave it late as possible?
It’s not really gambling. It sounds like nobody has met our valuation. I guess what BD and others are saying is the later in the window, the more desperate buyers might be, which would drive value/price up to what we’d be happy with
If we lose that ‘gamble’ we’re left with one of best players still here
So they can get out of reinvesting. It doesn’t make sense, why would the club choose to leave it late as possible?
But as been mentioned, less time to reinvest, and more probability of either not getting a replacement in, or 2022's Kevin Kyle rocks up.It’s not really gambling. But COH gives the team and the fans something different that’s difficult to replace or buy.Even without C O'H (let's imagine he was injured for a second); we would have Sheaf, Eccles, Kelly, Palmer, Allen, Hamer and Howley available. It's an area we have some depth in.

Is it? The alternative is not to sell him unless our valuation is reached, at a point where it is not to any more of a detriment to the side than it absolutely has to be.But the only alternative at the moment is selling Ohare for less than we value him
I don't think we want to sell the lad NickYeah so that last line sounds a silly idea, unless we have "a duck in a row" ready to come in.
Would hamer be the chosen 1 out of the 3 to lose?I don't think we want to sell the lad Nick
The issue could be the personal terms which would be astronomical
A bit like McNulty after the L2 season
COH is pretty level headed but none of us know how we'd react in similar circumstances
