O'Hare bids (13 Viewers)

Sad news, but your last point is a bit concerning. If a club offers x 3 in terms of salary to entice the player, it implies they then offer next to nothing in terms of a purchase price to try and unsettle the player (re: wages) How can a player be offered a salary before any sale has been agreed. That seems plain wrong. If C O'H is off, I think we all wish him well (except for 2 games) and await with interest what we do between now and the end of the transfer window.
Would think that salary offer was down to his agent . Finds out they have put in a bid for O'hare then contacts them and asks what they're offering.

I haven't been posting as often recently as I seem to have a stalker
I've had him on ignore bur no doubt he's hovering over his keyboard waiting for every post I make
But he shouldn't bother
I'm afraid COH is on his way to Lancashire
It's not fair to blame anyone at the club
The personal terms are astronomical and virtually any player would want to take advantage of a life changing offer like this
But of course the club still have power and we have driven a hard bargain
Certainly more than the £5m Fulham offered
If there is any consolation it's that we are in a stronger position to demand a higher fee for Gus if a wealthier club comes in for him in similar circumstances with a stupendous contract offer

Et tu, Brute? 😝

I think we can accept players moving on but what people won’t accept if the club doesn’t invest in the squad. Even if it’s a like for like and no one else coming in.

To NOT invest in the squad or replace o’hare is criminal in my book and a lot of good will take a while to get back especially after the amount of season tickets sold.

Personally I don’t think boddys a stupid yes man. He’ll know that robins will demand a like for like replacement or more from the sale.

Still no news of him or CC84 which is quite worrying.

Sorry for the reactionary meltdown but Fisher, Joy and Boddy have shown they are not building the club to be in the top flight. They are quite happy to charge sky high interest and cream funds off the top when a big transfer happens.
Badlan needs to have a 1million technically gifted player from Holland ready to bring in as we have just lost the most influential player in the team.

We did well and performed above expectations because we were dynamic and pressed like not many in our league can. Without COH we will not be able to do that anywhere near as effectively.

Finally this will no doubt have Victor and Gus speaking to their agents and will be a blow to the group.

As for the fans it was clear what most felt about him and he was extra adored by under 20yo fans as the cameo at big weekend showed his huge appeal. We have lost that cross over appeal with this sale.

CCFC have done this before and have been alright but in my years of watching the club this felt like the summer not to take the money and run.

Want to hear from Robins and someone from SISU ideally not Boddy.

Let’s be honest Robins would never agree to a “we are going to sell a player and no matter what we get for him we are keeping it” situation would he.

Realistically there’s probably a number that’s been agreed that’s needed to go back into running costs of the club. Or a % up to a number or whatever.

But don’t let any pragmatism get in the way of a good bedwet and let’s all get absolutely livid about the sale of a player (that’s not yet happened) and the pocketing of the money (that we’ve not yet received). Slow summer for everyone I guess

This is the issue with actually winning pre-season friendlies.... everyone needs to find something else to get apoplectic about....

Shite news…. But we move on and trust the process. I rarely invest any time or emotion in players but COH I really liked…..you can just tell he’s enjoyed his time at Cov.
The whole parachute payment reward just stinks…. It locks in a group of yo-yo teams to huge payouts!!

For me this is a backwards step, people say trust the process etc but we won’t be able to replace him with somebody as influential as COH, he is what makes our whole system tick. We’ve lost him 2 weeks before the first match, we’re weaker than last season.
You'd struggle to do like for like replacement, but if you have any kind of 'model' you reinvest and sign, say, 2 players who make the team better over all. Of course the worry is, that won't happen.

Amazed the concern is around COH and Hamer, thought Vik would be very high on people’s shopping lists this summer.

I do think this will be the first full season since MR’s return that we regress slightly.

I’m not predicting a relegation battle but I think lower mid table and very inconsistent.

I think the plan from the owners is to tread water for 12 months, clear out a lot of players next summer (both in expiring contracts and sales) then try give Mar a bit of backing next summer with a refreshed wage budget and some of the sales income.

It’s frustrating because we all saw how close we were last season and a small bit of investment to keep the team together and add a few key pieces and we could really contend. It also doesn’t help seeing teams like Boro and Stoke in our league with those sort of owners knowing we’ll never be able to compete.

I just want to know what sisu’s end game is now really. It isn’t very motivating the idea that we’ve reached our limit and the goal is now treading water.

For whatever reason MR wont be here forever and we could have squandered our best chance at a promotion that would secure the club for a decade.

Why if we sold all 3 you’d be saying we have to and tossing off over your Dave Boddy poster

If we were to sell O’hare I’d be tempted to look around at Sammie Szmodics, Tino Anjorin, Taylor Roberts or Mateusz Bogusz (and obviously the previously mentioned players: Anderson and that Wimbledon AM)

If we got sibley and bird then I would actually say across the squad we have made big strides for depth. Bench will have players able to come on and really effect the game. Could turn out to be a positive.

However if we don’t replace him along with the new injury to Kelly, then we again are one key injury away from square pegs in round holes.
