I didn’t know that. Thought he was now fit. Thought he was a quality player capable of playing at a much higher lever when we had him.Think he's out for the season injured. Also not the same position

It's not solely the player though is it he's this year's sacrifice.Tbh SBB you're normally better informed than me
But once an agent tells a player the size of what's on offer the writing is on the wall
There are exceptions like Steven Gerrard back in the day for instance but usually they're at clubs that can pay something approaching the potential buyer even if they can't beat it
We’re rich! But for how long…
I’m sure privately he would be pissed off even though he wouldn’t obviously say that.If I was Robins , and me and my staff had developed a player for 3 years , turned him from a free transfer into a 7/8/9 million pound player and never saw any of the money , I'd be inclined to just fuck off
We wouldn't have wanted to sell him WingyIt's not solely the player though is it he's this year's sacrifice.
They know when they come.
Oh yes I know from first hand everyone’s after your job and can do a better shift than you. Bastards really. Ruthless. We wouldn't have wanted to sell him Wingy
If you were the manager and the player's agent told you he wanted to leave what would you do?
Football is a horrible business really
The fans love their club and the players
But for everyone else involved it's a ruthless, survival of the fittest world
I should think so too , bringing in fees the club hasnt seen since the late 90sI’m sure privately he would be pissed off even though he wouldn’t obviously say that.
I think he will get a little something to work with.
Ok I’ll put it out there and ready for the flak… how about Liam Walsh coming as a squad player? I know he hadn’t done much since he left us but but under robins and vivesh a fit Liam Walsh would be positive?
Yes he has to stay fit as well!
Exactly. This will happen to every very good Championship player. No point everyone being up in arms about it. Just hope Robins can be given some of this to reinvest. We wouldn't have wanted to sell him Wingy

Thanks mate. Feel much better now.Get out of the sun mate and drink some water
More of a worry when we've barely had a player worth selling for 20 years. It's Robbie Keane all over again, look what we replaced him with. Absolutely gutted if he goes, wish Hamer was the one to go and that we'd get another year or two from O'hare. We're fucked if we have a bad season as Hamer and Gyokeres will both be off next year too. It's a worry.

I was referring to his talent and impact on the team, not really been bothered about any player we've sold since, but losing O'Hare is a bit of a tough one to take.Tbf he left for very different reasons
That makes the point even more though. We couldn’t afford £300k for an obviously quality player that the management were interested in so we got a waster and end up left behind.
When people talk about investment they mean £300k Twine and £800k Rudoni along with being able to reinvest sales.
We’re just servicing debt now.
I imagine he would rather sign for the dog n duck rather than Burnley if they offered the same salaryI must admit I feel a little gutted he's going not really been arsed about players leaving g over the last 10 years but I feel a bit different here ..
And I think O'Hare loves it here and probably wishes coventry could offer the wages Burnley have so he could stay ..
Footy is a bit shit at times like this
I hear what you are saying Briles. On the other hand it was always inevitable that one of the big 3 would be leaving. MR and his team are brilliant at planning ahead; and I am absolutely certain that plans are in place. I'm also not buying into the argument that MR will not be given funds to re-invest.It's really going to bugger up Robins plans I have no doubt. It centred on him

I would for 3x my salaryIs the player pushing for the move then?
You mean apart from Maddison, Wilson, McCallum, Bayliss, McNulty, Chaplin etc etcMore of a worry when we've barely had a player worth selling for 20 years.

Nobody I think is blaming the player, it’s a relatively short career and he has to earn as much as he can while he can.
Few in principle are blaming the club for taking the offer either. There’s just frustration that we’re in the financial position of having to accept lower than we could potentially have got and some concern over how if at all he’ll be replaced.

60 decades of selling the best talent is a fact of life for Sky Blue supporters. Still feel aggrieved now about Mortimer going to Villa....what might have been. O'Hare was a revelation for this club after 17 years in the wilderness. Yes he didn't score enough goals; but his energy radiated through the team and his link up play was excellent. The picture with iconic Lennon sunglasses will be fondly remembered similarly to Willie Carr donkey kick and Houchen diving header. But we will move on and find another club hero that will drive the team on providing MR gets some funds to do so. As for Burnley, I think they will be mid-table at best. Life goes on. PUSB
There are obviously a few. I just mean having good players that we can sell for a lot of money isn't a bad thing. I'd be more worried if we had no one we could sell. You mean apart from Maddison, Wilson, McCallum, Bayliss, McNulty, Chaplin etc etc
