Wasn't he the one who broke the story, said they cooled their interest, then have come back after the sold Collins. Latest he's saying is that a fee isn't agreed yet.
Isn't this exactly the state of play?
He has been backed... but by the club.
You seem to forget that the scope to reinvest sales into the budget would've been far greater back then due to much lower overheads, a less of a demand to pay decent fees for players and player turnover of course being much higher due to many being on shorter term contracts.
The first summer of L1 the club had received dividends from the PO run and promotion, a windfall from Maddison's sell-on clause, as well as McNulty being sold to Reading. That was a sizeable amount of revenue raised comparative to our turnover at the time, you'd think at over 50% at a guess, so you can see why there was scope to pay fees for players such as Bakayoko, JCH and Hiwula. Unsurprisingly that year SISU extracted significant funds totalling £1.6m from the club as well.
The following year Chaplin and Bayliss were sold, which also allowed Robins the means to purchase Godden.
The difference is now though we haven't received a windfall for a transfer since Wilson was sold two years ago and the last player sale was McCallum in January 2020.
The pattern is quite clear, without revenue generated from transfers the budget available for purchasing players just isn't there. Certainly not when this season wages are now 100% of turnover, transfer instalments are due for certainly one of Sheaf and Gyokeres but probably both, improvements have had to be made on the Ryton pitches, the club are stuck with players on significant contracts that seemingly can't be moved on, SISU could potentially extract funds to repay interest as they haven't done so in three years, and there's a £2.4m loan to the EFL in need of repayment by 2024.
Best contacts in the EFLWhy do you get so defensive of him and turner when time and time again its proven they know basically fuck all, it's a bit strange
And again I'll point you to the outright lies he told about the guy who tried to buy derby and the damage he caused with that
The guy is a charlatan
My original response was a genuine question. I haven't seen anything he's said which is incorrect in relation to O'Hare? Why do you get so defensive of him and turner when time and time again its proven they know basically fuck all, it's a bit strange

@junglej13 you will find people quick to criticise him on here but then struggle to name anyone with better insights of the Premier League. My original response was a genuine question. I haven't seen anything he's said which is incorrect in relation to O'Hare?

he specialises in transfers …. His sources are agents and clubs…. Not everything comes off but that’s the nature of deals.
There are lots of hugely credible journalists once you get to Prem or equivalent with Fabrizio Romano the current best in class …
I have no idea why people knock him. Most football fans live for transfer gossip and it’s hard to come by once you are not in the Premier League.
Hmm harsh to call him a charlatan. He clearly has a pretty extensive network and has built a number of inside links. Shown by his record in breaking transfer news early. Pretty sure he's broken several of our own. Sheaf, Godden and McCallum?
That said he does have a tendency to put 2+2 together and come out with 5.
It's the derby stuff that has left such a bad taste in my mouth, lied about seeing proof of funds from that guy who tried to buy them and then dismissed it all, utter scumbag
I don't know much bout the Derby stuff other than people were tweeting him every day asking him questions. It's the derby stuff that has left such a bad taste in my mouth, lied about seeing proof of funds from that guy who tried to buy them and then dismissed it all, utter scumbag
Agents don’t need retainers to provide info. They willingly provide it to make moves public in the hope of a) creating competition for the player b) put pressure on the interested parties to get the deal done.I don't know much bout the Derby stuff other than people were tweeting him every day asking him questions.
Transfer wise - he will have agents on hefty retainers bankrolled by the Sun. It's filthy money. Not denying because of the nature of it some of the info will probably be agents deliberately using clubs names for their clients interests. Over the years he's broken loads of stories. Just for us he broke Godden, Rose, Sheaf. Be interested to see if Adaramola also links up after this weekend.
So, is Ohare going or what?

O'Hare to stay I hopeO'Hare today, gone tomorrow
Quite certain that some people are absolutely desperate for O'Hare to be sold for £4m so they can slate SISU/Boddy/the tea lady and feel all superior

I have said on here before Burnley are broke any money they get from in coming transfers will go back to their financial backers. Their apparent bid for O’Hare will only happen if we except instalments and that will be based on them getting back to the prem first attempt if they don’t good bet O’Hare could be sold on.
Maybe he got lied to by overson as well...
He has a hell of a lot to answer for
Then there are the ones who think the sun shines out of them and they can do no wrong.Quite certain that some people are absolutely desperate for O'Hare to be sold for £4m so they can slate SISU/Boddy/the tea lady and feel all superior
They are not broke, of the parties we are in the weaker bargaining position

That's Batshituayi crazy!I had a look on there the other day and made a swift exit after I saw one poster seriously suggest Michy Batshuayi on loan.
And they need to spend half of that on O'Hare or like others have said move on.I'
Not broke but don't think they are cash flush either. Guess we'll see if it happens without them having to sell another (although they've just got £20million in).
And that £20million will be in the front door and out the back, which is how sisu operate so I’m not gloating, luckily we have a provern manager at this level.I'

It’s a matter of public record that we have to sell one of our key players. That weakens our position. Add to this that at the moment we are not aware of lots of other interest in Ohare which weakens us further. We are not the weaker bargaining position at all. O Hare is under contract and happy so we should hold out for what the club wants. Burnley need to shut the fuck up or pay the asking price. It’s simple.
Boddy has made clear that it isn't as straight forward as thatWe are not the weaker bargaining position at all. O Hare is under contract and happy so we should hold out for what the club wants. Burnley need to shut the fuck up or pay the asking price. It’s simple.
All good then. We're going to get some terrific value when spending the £10m.
I respect your opinion and it seems you are better connected than most. But do we have to sell one of the big 3 right now why not next summer or January? I accept our model needs sales but there has been a fair bit if extra revenue coming into the club in recent seasons vs St Andrews. Not sure that counts for nothing. We also have some quite big contracts due to expire next summer. It’s a matter of public record that we have to sell one of our key players. That weakens our position. Add to this that at the moment we are not aware of lots of other interest in Ohare which weakens us further.
I’m sure COH’s agent will have been told what the bid needs to get to for the player to be available. This will also have been relayed to Burnley. We may even have a transfer release clause in his recently signed contract.
I don’t claim to have connections at City but I have 2 good friends in other clubs board rooms, one Prem, one a big club outside Prem.
in short outside of the premier league and recently relegated clubs there is no money in the EFL …. The clubs with money know this. They know EFL clubs have to sell to survive, but they also know it’s pretty limited competition for most players. The Rich are squeezing the poorer clubs even harder this summer.
Those clubs who want Vik and Hamer but have been priced out will continue to watch and wait. If we don’t sell COH then It’s one of those two. They all know it.
Cov have to decide whether to roll the dice hoping that if one of the big 3 starts the season on fire it might just trigger more acceptable bids than they are currently getting.
