O'Hare bids (7 Viewers)

I don't think we want to sell the lad Nick
The issue could be the personal terms which would be astronomical
A bit like McNulty after the L2 season
COH is pretty level headed but none of us know how we'd react in similar circumstances
Question is would o’hare say I’ll stay and give it another go at city next season and hope a better club than Burnley comes in for him IF we failed to get promotion?
With respect to Burnley would you really go there if you had the choice of other clubs geographically speaking at a later date?

We (the club) can't control when clubs offer and what they offer. Sounds like we've set a price in line with what most on here think he's worth and what other transfers confirm he's probably worth.

To criticise the club for holding out for that price is daft. To assume they'd wait too long ignores the apparent evidence that we're refusing to be low balled. Seems like they can't win with some.

Surely the club would prefer to sell one now and look to develop their replacement rather than going into next summer potentially having to sell all three if there's an indication that none will sign new deals - which is fairly probable if their form continues and given the level interest in them.

Hard to say
Could even be the possibility of a sale and loan back but that's usually in the winter window

I think they are trying to hold out til Jan to sell one of the 'big 3'. There will more than likely be a championship team who thought they would be in the playoffs places at least by Jan, or a prem team in or near the bottom 3, with plenty of cash looking for a quick fix. Surely that's when you'd maximize your profit, especially if those players are performing well, which I'm sure they will.

I'm hoping they will hold out till then at least.

Is it? The alternative is not to sell him unless our valuation is reached, at a point where it is not to any more of a detriment to the side than it absolutely has to be.

I said at the moment though mate. As we haven’t had a bid that’s acceptable to us whys it a gamble to wait ? Everyone else is talking loads of ifs and buts. It’s irrelevant really…we don’t know if he’s going, if he does what price he’d go for, when he’d go or what replacements might be lined up and available

Of course we don’t want to sell him last day of the window. Having said that if someone suddenly offered £15m at 10pm on the last day we might have to suck up not having a ready made replacement. All hypotheticals though

Keep the 3 then if we’re around the play offs around new year I’m sure sisu would try and offer new contracts to them?
I honestly think COH is happy here with us fans and the club as we showed commitment in him.
Think he’s not bothered about going to Burnley it’s hardly a step up is it?

It would be hard for him to turn down double his income however much he loves it here

I agree with your reply but how much of that salary would his agent pocket?
House move etc then settling in to a club in the same division that will probably be down now for a few years.

The agent would get a fee as in all transfers but his wage (salary) is separate, so to answer to your question, none!

I think agents negotiate their own fees with the buying club these days
The clubs sort out everything for the players too and to be fair to Burnley they've recruited some good players , they'll be there or thereabouts imo

There is still some considerable time until the window closes so I don't understand the urgency to sell our better players below their value to us. As pointed out the club might well make a strategic decision to review in January, rather than accept a low fee now anyway. If we did receive a late offer that was acceptable to the club then I would expect MR to have a number of targets himself already prepared, as it would be remiss of him to not plan for that eventuality, whenever that might be. I am actually quite pleased that we haven't just taken any old offer for our players.

I feel there's sufficient weight to this for it to happen, question is when

O'Hare is a player we don't want to lose (probably second out of the 'three' IMO) but if we get circa £10m and we invest half of that in the squad then I don't think many of us would complain too much

I would much rather he stay of course but let's be honest unless we consistently challenge for the top 6 our top players are going to leave

Christ that £15million would evaporate to about £500k by the time the January transfer window opens and I bet we would still have that EFL loan round our neck.

Will be gutted if CoH does go but it at least seems we're not accepting the first offer that comes in and we're pushing back more than we did before.

If I'm honest, I think losing Gyo would be a bigger blow so if this means we keep Gyo and have money to buy a suitable replacement (as suitable as can be), then so be it. Not ideal but every clubs sells.

Finding a decent striker has proven tough for us over the years - need to keep Gyo at all costs.

2bh we’ve done alright recently with strikers if Godden stays fit (big if) there’s at least 15 goals from him

If O'Hare goes I'm sure MR will have a contingency, may well be Louie Sibley, hopefully opens the market right up for us with talk of over 10 million for him

Nursey has a very good “in” with the club as I’ve alluded to before

We’re staying at St Andrews…

O'Hare going would be devastating. Such an exciting, all action player, who gives 110%, rarely gets injured, and a key cog in our play. I can understand why the club may need to sell one of the Big 3 but Callum would be the worst to lose IMO. Also if this does go through next week (as has been speculated) it only gives Robins a week or so to bring in a replacement. Is Sibley at the level of O'Hare? Will we even get him, or are we going to be scrapping around for a loan after the seasons starts.

I'll be fucking fuming if we sell O'hare and replace him with Sibley

Yeah that's fair. I guess with his injury record, would we get a full season out of him (and I'm a massive fan of his)?

I think with CoH - yes he's a vital part of the team, is exciting, hard working and fits in well with the team - I just think that some on here think he's the only player with those attributes and he's irreplaceable.

My own opinion, rightly or wrongly, is it'll be harder to replace Gyo than O'Hare.

But of course, I want them both to stay put! Fingers crossed we either get a stupid amount £10m+ and MR gets even £2m to spend of that, or Gyo, O'Hare and Hamer all line up against Sunderland.

I agree. I wouldn't bank on him getting as many goals next season mind you (where we need O'Hare / O'Hare replacement to step up to compensate if that does actually happen), and he needs a new contract if we don't want him to end up with only one year left, too.

Oh yeah - as a player Gyokeres is so much better than Godden. He’s a well rounded striker. You won’t replace Gyokeres with a like for like striker without paying 15m

O’Hare is our driving force - he gets the team going, there isn’t many players around that do what he does for us in general.

might explain why Robins is trialling 4-3-3 - O’Hare makes his current formation tick
