Burnley just got 20 mill for McNeil ,will they come back with an acceptable bid,I wouldn't be surprised.

I don’t think the McNeil transfer will have been a surprise, Burnley’s finances aren’t very good. I am hoping at this late stage and the fact Burnley are in the same division we tell them to do one.

This McNeil transfer won’t be a bolt from the blue, this would have been on the cards for weeks, so they would have been negotiating for O’Hare safely in the knowledge that McNeil and Cornet will be sold. This changes nothing in my opinion really.

The money Burnley are receiving from transfers is servicing debt to their owners in the main. I’ll be surprised if they can match what we want for O’Hare. Ultimately if they match the £9m we want then fair play.

Spot on! I watched a bit of Kompany's press conference and to me it was clear they have this debt/loan repayments and they need to generate funds. Also feels like them spending money on the players they have was done knowing player sales were required.

I would be surprised for them to stump up the money we are requesting.
And once the season starts and the deadline gets ever closer I just think a deal is less and less attractive from our perspective.

It is not the same as having those deals over the line though and maybe having received the first instalment. Also two big wages no longer being paid out each month.

Its not just a club meeting the transfer fee we want…..any deal will also be influenced by the schedule of payments. I would guess we would want two payments rather than four to six that Burnley would suggest

OK I've seen it .. il be honest, il believe it now when the club announce it .. not when journos guess it

The whole saga is a bit boring

Must be true. This lot are on it.

As one of the replies says. Rumours just because they’ve sold someone.

Look at this shithousery reporting.

O'Hare is expected to start for the Sky Blues at Sunderland on Sunday in their Championship opener. But he is interested in the move to replace McNeil , who made 140 appearances for the Clarets and has missed just two Premier League games since December 2018.

Seriously? Did Callum tell James Nursery that.

This has gone on too long to sell O’Hare now would be a massive kick in the balls for the 13000+ season ticket holders the club has been trumpeting lately and the rest of our support, just takes a statement from the club saying O’Hare is going nowhere.

If O’Hare wasn’t interested his agent would have informed Burnley and they would not have bid. The fact they have bid twice tells us that they know that Ohare is prepared to go to Burnley.

The days of clubs agreeing a fee and then the player being asked about his desire for the move and his personal terms are long gone ….

Today: Cornet not going to Forest at the moment because although the clubs agreed a fee, the player's personal term can't be met !!!!!!

What if O'Hare wanted to go, as was offered massively increased wages?
Do you live in a reality world where every sale of a player is only down to the club, and the players are innocent parties forced to move elsewhere to earn more money.

That said I dont think he will go, this is a non story just because they sold someone.

Someone around here strongly hinted he was interested. Nowt is certain of course, but they clearly had reason to say that (unlike most of us!).

You may be right but the fee has to be made in one payment or no deal. Burnley’s financial position and their owners would scare the shite out of any selling club never mind city.

To risky to do business with at the moment.

Almost zero fees are paid in one go anymore.

I believe Newcastle used to pay all/most up front in exchange for a reduced overall price but even that's changed since Ashley left & it's not like they're short of funds.

…Do you want this statement to be from Mark Robins himself then?
[/QUOTE]
Why not, it seems he has rubbished the Simon Moore to Bournemouth story reported in the Telegraph.

Apparently a helicopter landed at Ryton today and O'Hare was seen boarding it. My source from within the club have said that Burnley are back and not going away. O'Hare is keen on the move as he's never been in a helicopter before and Burnley are pulling out all the stops to impress him. A player plus cash deal looks extremely likely. Thanks for your time Cal.
