O'Hare is a Burden on the Team (1 Viewer)

A lot of chances I think O'hare should bury them and then see the highlights and you realise it wasnt as easy shot as I first thought. He'll be frustrated himself as much as the posters on here...
Exactly look at his face when he hits that shot really well and the keeper saved it, he was gutted.

If we replaced O’Hare with an average League 1 CAM in terms of goal contributions, we’d be comfortably top 6, maybe even automatics. I am certain of that.

The amount of people on here that cannot see it is really quite worrying.
Total rubbish - Most of our build up play goes through O'Hare - That’s why his name is on the team sheet first - he’s also adored by our fans and they sing about him every match - Do you not think the player and management are working hard on his short comings - Once he does add the goals to his other play he will most likely end up in the premiership like Maddison - when he’s gone you will realise how the team is not clicking - other team posters and commentators alike often comment how good he is

He’s a good player but I’m not sure he will ever add goals. After Bristol City at home I thought he’d go on a run but the game after and since reverted back to type.

I agree. He just doesn't have natural finishing technique. Sometimes he genuinely looks so awkward when shooting, just technically really bad.

That being said, he is still a great player and integral to the way we play. If he scored 10 goals a season he wouldn't be playing for us.

I think to emphasise the gap between a 23s team scoring and senior football he was a 1 in 4 scorer for Villa’s!

I don't think anyone is doubting his overall ability or how important he is to the team.

Given his quality, he 'should' be scoring more than he is. Last nights chance was just symptomatic of why he's not scored enough, given his skill levels and the positions he gets into.

It's frustrating because he's a great player but if he scored a few more, we'd be higher up the table. And before G chimes in and says 'yeah but if A N other player scored more, we'd be higher'...our two main strikers this season Gyo and Godden have 23 goals between them. The next most advanced player is O'Hare with 1. Then you have two defenders with 3 apiece, it's just a little frustrating.

We are better with him though, than without. Surely no one questions that?

He only beat three players to get there as well! He’s stealing a wage, you’re quite right to be upset.
And as far as I can tell everyone thinks he did exceptionally well to create that chance for himself. But once he got himself into that position he should score. He did the unbelievably hard bit then messed up the easier bit. If I smash my car up as I'm parking it doesn't matter if I've driven thousands of miles to get there perfectly.

Bring him off the bench to run at tired legs. Pointless starting him IMO because he contributes nothing to our attacking play. Maatsen has started two league games in a similar position to O’Hare and has two goals.

Except it was a .13 chance of converting.....

Sorry G.

The OP then - One person whose comment attracted 4 likes.

Other than that, everyone else can see he's a great player, just missing the final product.

I mean , he's creating the chances , he can't be blamed for them not being taken right ?
Godden & Gyo into double figures Hyam & Maatsen not far behind 😉 it’s his goals and the chances he misses which gets people frustrated

Are these stats a burden on the team ? Who else is doing this work for us ?

For reference , Allen, Shipley, hamer and sheaf all fall below him on most these stats .. we have no other player doing the work , which is why o hare plays and is needed in the team

He has all the stats...why were the club trying to find a buyer in jan coming out with figures to the media ? Surely that’s the last thing you want to do no ?

We had Boddy in the media talking about taking no less than 5m for star players hamer & O’Hare names mentioned they clearly wanted a buyer in January, neither left

So we weren't trying to find a buyer then 👌 that's just what you and a couple on here think
