Can't wait to have him back, I've really missed watching him play.

And the thought of having Wright, Simms, Godden, Palmer, Sakamoto and O'Hare competing for three shirts is very exciting.

Looks like he’s gained significant upper body muscle. Looked average pre-injury now he looks jacked and defined. Be nice to see him hold his own against players trying to haul him down all the time.

Yep, at least we have cover there in the meantime with Palmer and Sakamoto
I think Palmer offers more than O'Hare, but ideally would like to see them play together. Especially if away we opt tactically to play with one striker (although mainly playing with two strikers).

But I would like to see how a midfield of Hamer, Sheaf, Palmer and O'Hare operates with Simms and Wright upfront, or Wright and Godden upfront?

We couldn't play all of those if we are 3 at the back + wingbacks

There is the option of a back four? I think we are getting near the stage where we have more tactical options. Not saying some of them will be applied for a full 90 mins. But yes Palmer and OHare more likely to play behind Wright as loan striker away from home.

Palmer doesn't do the running or the biting at the ankles Ohare does.

I just want one cup game where we end the game with:

Collins
Thomas Binks
van Ewijk Hamer Sakamoto
O’Hare Palmer New AM/ST
Wright Simms

Sounds like the perfect formation to snatch a 2-1 win over Man City in the FA Cup final. In reality its probably when we are chasing the lead against Wrexham again in the 3rd round.

I personally think O'Hare was more suited to the way we played last season as he offered that constant press, but agree it would be great to have them both on the pitch if we do go with one up front.
Seems he's been out for so long, it's easy to forget how good he was for us.

Just hope he can get back to the levels he was at before his initial injury, definitely looks to have the right mindset for it

Worth noting that before his injury most people would have rather lost Hamer than O'Hare. You forget as he's been out for so long but this guy is fucking brilliant. I'd accept second half of last season Hamer went to a level beyond even that of O'Hare, but thats all it was, half a season... no reason a fully fit O'Hare can't go to a different level in this team.

O'Hare was brilliant before his injury and if he can come back as good our front line should be firing. Word of caution, that was a really bad injury and sometimes halts career progression. Fingers crossed as he is a great player and a brilliant personality. Get the sunglasses ready

At that time Hamer had massive disciplinary issues and also hadn't been pushed into the more attacking role that had added more goals and assists to his game.

O'Hare is one of my favourite ever players but I have never thought he was as good as Hamer.

Really hope we don't rush him back too soon. Would be a massive boost to have him back of course but we don't want another Jodi Jones situation.

I've also always rated Hamer but let's not pretend he's always been the Hamer that started turning out part way through last season.

We got away with it because of Vik and the new level that Hamer found. If we had Ohare plus Hamer playing at the level he got to we'd have been unstoppable

Nothing against the lad and it’s great that he is back

But…

Did we actually miss him last season ?

It is a very sensitive subject on here, but the reality is we were one kick from the premier league. A lot of that success came about by the fact injuries meant Hamer played a lot of games as our most advanced midfielder. The standard of end product from him in both goals and assists was on another level which made us lethal. O'Hare offers a lot to the team and will be a welcome addition back, but end product is something he has suffered with. That's not to be negative, I will be happy he is back around the squad, but with the standard now being higher, it means he won't necessarily walk right back into the team.
