Is Baker out of contract in the summer? If so as one of the high earners want shot of him tbh unless he is willing to take a huge pay cut to stay in which case would welcome the addition to the numbers.

Baker always puts in a shift but is certainly replaceable and in the market we operate in nowadays is very expensive for what he produces.
A cut price Baker in terms of wages I would be very happy to support. Would happily lose him and Christie if it meant keeping Murphy and Moose in terms of slary negotiations.

I went for a run today too. Whilst my colleagues were having their lunch. Don't give me any shit. Ever.

Thanks for that, still acting like a 6 year old.

That is a cutting comeback.

A very good friend of mine told me that he once bumped into Joanna Lumley whilst hiking in the Himalaya and she told him that whilst the rest of the cast of Ab Fab were toasting each other at the end of filming the series, she (Joanna) was at home practicing the ukelele. That alone excuses Joanna Lumley from any abuse ever.

Really, for a man who say's he knows a lot about CCFC, recently you have proved yourself to be coming up short in that department. Firstly with you not knowing terms like Westender and alike and then with this comment. There have been far worse the Baker despite coming with supposed big reputations like Delfounseo (PL player), Kilbane (wealth of experience) and the list can go on.

A good mate of mine told me that when your favourite manager Andy Thorn was in charge, he let the majority of the players off to a race meeting on a Thursday (I think) before a game on the Saturday and miss a whole day of training. The reason he knew this was because he saw Baker out on a long run because training was called off and he had a chat with him. That in itself deserves credit and not to be given shit by Cov fans.

Baker himself said it,he broke off one interview to inform the audience he was going on a run - that's after the story in the CET showing Carl's sky blue tatoo and that a week after his sky blue wedding.

A division one journeyman who coundnt hack it in the championship.

Are you a Ricoher by any chance?

Which player is going to be your target next week? Don't aim at anyone in our defence as they have done well all season.

wish you were correct but all of those teams could actually overtake us on the points side.neither play each other so technically,
Colchester - 53
Tranmere -53
Crewe - 53
Notts - 52
Carlisle - 53 (game in hand).

City need another 3 points

I too think we are already safe. 4 points clear with 2 games to go. More than enough I feel.

All these teams below us aren't all going to pick up points. I'm sure they could mathematically get 53 and 52 points etc, but realistically it ain't going to happen. I think we are now already safe.

Baker has underachieved in all but one season at Coventry.

Probably one if the most over rated players I have witnessed in 40 years. I hope he goes in the summer - however I am sure he will stay loyal to the shirt.

And replaced by who exactly?

Our club in it's current predicament is lucky to have any player who passionately wants to pull the shirt on and is even less likely to attract another player of that ilk or even that quality, however over rated you think he is.

Have you got a sky blue/cov tattoo?

He has been better than 90% of Pressley's signings alone and that is before you get into the history of other signings over the last 40 years, 10 goals for a midfielder is not a bad return. If league 1 is his level then what does that make a lot of the rest of our squad?

Nobody is a Ricoher at the moment. However, despite only being 40 I have heard of the terms you claim never to have heard of attributed to certain sections of Highfield Road and the Ricoh. But to really answer your question, no but I would say I would have been classed by another term or name in the past.

I don't ever remember her playing for Cov (might have helped the attendance). You really do bring a lot to the table though, don't you.

Baker was signed for £600,000 and also is reputed to earn £8,000 per week. Therefore one would hope he is better than free transfers on significantly less money.

However, baker was signed in the championship and not division one and at at that level was a serial underachiever. It is at that level he needs judging as to if he was a good signing

Coventry supporters have frequently preferred skill over effort. "He's done a shift" is the preferred mantra of the agricultural and not the gifted. It is why, no doubt, if we did a poll as to the best player - Carl baker or stern John - baker would win. John was a vastly superior footballer.

Edit: Or perhaps they wouldn't. There are many threads on Baker in the Championship - here is one;

I never said I didn't

I have never heard the term main stand brigade, sky blue stander, west stander so no you are usual talking rubbish just for the sake of arguing.

I think people seem to be missing the point he is on a shedload and is not that good even by league 1 standards.......as i said only worth keeping if willing to take a huge paycut otherwise better to look elsewhere for value for money or worst case scenario try to bring someone through from the academy. Let's face it until this season no-one really saw coming the impact Wilson would have this season!

Mondays performance was absolutely diabolical. I don't know if it was the fact that it was Oldham that made it worse but I started asking around if we should just bugger off after 20 minutes (which was already a lifetime!).

I am contemplating what I am going to do next year. If the JR doesn't change much and we are still playing at sixfields next year then I think I may have to drop CCFC for a little while*. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Might get a season ticket up Cov Rugby. I really dont think next season will be all too good, and with how bad the football was on Monday I think it is only going to get worse.

*Just to clarify this does not mean I am giving up on CCFC! I have decided that I will wait until there is full confirmation we are staying outside of the Coventry border before making that call.

Why would it bring Oldham make it worse?

Have you ever been to Oldham?!

What I meant was the drive there and the fact it is a dump doesn't fill you with excitement! The standard of football was the icing on the cake!

I have been yes. When they were a premier league side.

....and people wonder why the club's income suffers, with 'die-hards' like you.
