Used to closely follow them in times gone by. This time I have zero interest in them. Any one else?

Coverage is gash as well.

Been watching BBC and Eurosport and they cut and swap things all the time. You miss loads of goals in some of the team sports.

The BBC also seems to have excessive punditry. I don't need to know how long their pubic hair is for the swimming and all that shit.

Very little interest this time around. Time difference and the fact events are scheduled to suit US TV networks doesn't help and then you factor in the shit punditry and lack of crowds and it's all a bit shit.

Can't see the gold rush for us that we've enjoyed in the last few games either (was pretty mental that we came 2nd in medals table last time when you think about it).

Not watched any yet but will make an exception for the heptathlon, some of the cycling and anything Dina Asher Smith is entered for. Usually it's on all day every day for the duration but I really can't be bothered this year. A lack of crowds, some athletes with COVID so not full strength fields, maybe a bit of Euro 2020 fatigue, it all adds up.

It's sport so I have a passing interest similar to the lions, but tbh I couldn't give a flying if gb won 1 hold or 50. Enjoyed the skateboarding last night and always try and watch the 100m mens track final.

Last night was excellent fall to sleep material. Park skateboarding on one side and on the other surfing what looked like 3 ft waves.

If we won anything at these events then it was greatest thing ever.

Did I read somewhere that transgender athletes are involved this time around? If so it's wrong and gives them a competitive advantage, especially if a transgender woman took part in the women's event

Yes I think it was a "female" weightlifter from NZ

Anyone see Danusia Francis earlier? Tore her ACL earlier this week but still attempted her routine. Said all she achieved her dream of being an Olympian. Someone Coventry should be proud of.

Haven't watched any Olympics for decades! Not since the early 70's at least. Lost all interest in them. Couldn't even be arsed when they were held in London in 2012.

It's marginally less irritating than wall-to-wall Wimbledon, but I haven't yet watched a single second of it.
Not likely to either.

It's only just dawned on me, but the Tokyo olympic emblem in the background of media/news presentation looks almost completely plaguerised from our community/City of culture shirt.

Apart from cricket sport isn't massive to them. Hockey to a smaller extent and stuff like Kabbadi.

Doubt many have time to consider doing sport even recreationally. Space for it is going to be massively limited and cost of specialist equipment in some sports mean they're not an option. Not going to get much if any financial help from govt.

Then there's the cultural thing where they value education etc above physical ability and women are considered pretty much sub-human in far too many areas and a woman winning a medal wouldn't be considered as even vaguely important.

GB sprinter disqualifies himself with a false start in the 100m
Just seen an interview with him. Interviewer showed no emotional intelligence and kept going. Amazed he carried on. Feel sorry for the guy. We all make mistakes and she just seemed so critical of him.
