on the hill tonight (1 Viewer)

Work in norhampton went on the hill, there were about 20 by the time of kick off. Walked around the ground before the game was surprised how big the crowd was as well as the normal pre-match build up but a bit surreal ie no police also no hint of any trouble. Orient have nearly filled the stand behind the goal. The main stand looked about half full.

Atmosphere is good on the hill but grass is overgrown and when wet is not suitable to standard office attire. Saw Baker's goal, the hill has a good view of that goal its a cracker. i was a rea; part-timer and left soon after due to the rain and without an umbrella i would be soaked. Intend to return to the hill but with the right attire. A thoroughly decent bunch some I recognise from the trust, wish I could have stayed longer but watching only one penalty area can be frustrating,

I wonder how many Northampton people are adding to the gate, with their team playing crap.

My uncle who lives in Driffield E.Yorks has shamefully (imo) got a season ticket at Sixfields. He estimates between 450-500 city fans a game, the rest he claims have got to be made up, unless they're throwing big partys for the prawn sandwich brigade upstairs ;).

Didn't feel like a cov game from where i was on the hill, cheer for the goal was good but all the singing was from the orient fans. Had a good look at the cov fans outside the ground didn't recognise any. Would be surprised if cobblers fans went in decent numbers.

The hill missed me and five others tonight. Couldn't make it last minute. Gutted!

None of us expect any credit we do because we love the City.
I know that some people think we are scummers but that's there view. was wet and horrible but we were all in good spirits. there was 24 of us.

But if we were at the Ricoh tonight we would have had 10,000 fans and at £10,00 they would have made £100,00, £200,000 if it was the usual £20,00 enough to pay the rent for a season but they would have only got £24,000 today how can we seriously survive like that?
Don't be a dick.

Well done to the 20 that represented many of us on the hill tonight.

Well done for making it down.

Playing in Northampton isn't sustainable; certainly not for 5 years. I think SISU are pinning their hopes on the judicial review. Let's hope it gets them nowhere again.

They've held this club hostage, the scum.

Why shouldn't they people that phone up say they are happy to stay at Sixfields because there are no boo boys and the atmosphere is so friendly. they may take this to heart and stay. Good job really as if we all wanted to go we wouldn't get in and they would have to charge half price to watch from the hill.

Any way good win tonight hope they can keep it up

It worries me that our owners might happily set up camp in Northamptonshire.

Anyone who says they're happy we're playing in Sixfields needs a good slap. It goes to show how short sighted people are.

I was on the hill again tonight this was the first time I left before the end of the game because it hurts knowing that my team is playing within touching distance all I had to do was walk down the hill pay my money and go in. But I can't because my team should be playing in Coventry and thats why I can't watch them at Sixfields either in the ground or from the hill and that is why I hate and I really do mean hate Sisu and everything they stand for.

He understood what it was all about tonight ,he's 13 !!!
How come he can see it??
A total boycott would have us back at the ricoh in weeks.
Wake up.
Stop being selfish and stay away or go on the hilli

Your lad obviously has morals. Many don't sadly. They'd prefer the hedge fund holding their club hostage were gifted a stadium they didn't pay a penny for.

Mate of mine, who has a business in Northampton, got a couple of freebies tonight. Not the first time he's had them this season either. Offered me one but I can't bring myself to go to Sixfields. Just gave him a call and asked about attendance. He reckoned about 700 - 800 Orient fans and he said he would be amazed if there was over 1000 of our fans there. Told him what they'd announced on the radio and he said there's no way that's right.

Don't they have an option to announce tickets sold / given away rather than actual attendance? Think it's only when they deal with the taxman how many people have paid starts coming into it.

He said the weather wasn't great so a lot of people with freebies might not have bothered.

How do you work that one out? We are playing in Northampton because SISU could not bear to play at the Ricoh anymore. Someone said we could have had 15.000 tonight if we were at the Ricoh. Yes, that may be but CCFC wouldn't have received any money from sales of food etc. SISU had had enough and were desperately looking for a place for us to play our games, Northampton were the only option. But why would SISU want to keep us there? It's not logical. They too want CCFC back in Coventry but not until either they own the Ricoh, or have built another stadium. I feel annoyed at many on this site as they are so paranoid towards SISU they make me and a few others look like apologists for SISU. I would like them to leave but with all the anti-SISU sentiments I have NOT read one good alternative or NOT one good plan to replace SISU. On a side note - HATS OFF to the guys on the hill.

Please stop questioning the attendance. It was right. The main stand holds 4000 and it looked easily half full. Add Orients 600 and we're there. In fact I wouldn't have been surprised if they announced it being slightly higher than they did.

You need a good alternative? Try the people that bid for ownership of the club. Christ.

Story in this week's Northampton Chronicle and Echo. Someone wants to build a 25,000 seater arena near Sywell in Northants. Bit strange.

Can't read what it says but that can't be for football, is it for the rugby? I don't for a minute think SISU have some grand plan to franchise us out to Northampton but you have to wonder if it will cross their mind at some point. Especially if Northampton continue to struggle or even drop out of the league. If that can't get the Ricoh do they abandon moving back to Cov? Seems unlikely but a lot of things have happened in the last few years that you would have been called crazy if you'd predicted it.

How much do you think they made from selling pies tonight?

Your basically saying that sisu left the Ricoh because they were annoyed. There is no business case to be play in in Northampton for the next 5 years. That is not logical.

If they are deliberately willing to run the club at a massive loss for the next 5 years, why not 10? Why not 20 years?
