The thing is I'd rather know the price, but let's not pretend it's only the work of Sisu.
Quite.
When they started doing it I thought it... odd, but then it does seem everybody does it!
FWIW having had a chat with a leading PR agent for various Prem footballers, he said even when disclosed, the figures were often massaged one way or another anyway, depending on if they had to sweeten the blow or let their fans think they'd shown ambition, etc!
Of course, except in very high profile transfers (Ronaldo to Madrid being one), and even then the figure is virtually never paid all up front.
It's the high profile transfers that are exaggerated most, apparently!
Only comes out in accounts what the 'true' figures are, and even then it's often packaged as a collective so is harder to work out what's what.
On a slightly tangential level, a certain world famous footballer apparently always had his endorsements pumped up hugely. Looked good for the companies that they were willing to spend that much, helped the player when it came to negotiating his next endorsements elsewhere.
whatever your views are,
i'd bet that sisu have zero interest to make CCFC anything more than a vehicle for them to manipulate their finances,
frankly, imho, they have proven to be totally unsuitable owners,
so, step forward FL, & actually prove that you have BALLS,
THEY ARE A HEDGE FUND,
FFS, if you've got any doubts,
then google what hedge funds do,
sisu, for once in your existence, please give OUR CITY a chance to be happy
@summerisle......It seems that other posters aren't the only ones to turn a "Blind Eye" to certain points eh? What you've neglected to say is...It was recommended that the Academy be closed for the "Medium Term" because SISU did not have the Infrastructure or security measures to protect Families/players/equiptment from Vandalism and threats. It also states that it will be looked at again when such measures can be implemented!....So when all said and done...It wasn't being closed "Just for the sake of it"
@summerisle....It states in black and white that "SISU did not have the infrastructure or security measures to protect Families/players/equiptment from Vandalism and threats."....And NO I will not be going to Sixfields or any other ground to watch CCFC until SISU have gone! Ranson wasn't Mr perfect, but the two things I genuinely think he wanted, was CCFC in the Premiership, and SISU to buy decent players to make this possible. We all know that his hands were tied by Igwe, who had the power of Veto at board meetings, and the proof is in the lack of investment.

Westwood wanted a extention to his contract but Boothroyd and SISU had no intentions of doing so. Turner was massively undersold(Worth at least £2.5-£3m) The only image SISU had was to cut the wage bill, and nothing more. They thought it was a "Given" for promotion to the Premier league and the land of "Milk and Honey" How wrong were they?
I can't believe you are do gullible.
So I'm a crank because my valuation of a player differs from yours?....Grow up!
By Coventry Telegraph Comments Banter: Time for Sisu to wise up - starting with Ben Turner deal 30 Aug 2011 10:13 IF SISU are to keep control of Coventry City, they really must start looking after the club in a responsible way. Share on print Share on email IF SISU are to keep control of Coventry City, they really must start looking after the club in a responsible way. Believe what you will about the reason for the collapse of Gary Hoffman's takeover, Sisu clearly are not going to make any deal a straight forward affair. And quite right too, these things take time and care, but Ken Dulieu's name-dropping of Ken Bruce at the weekend did not seem a mere slip of the tongue. Hoffman's investors have fled like scared rabbits at the thought of having the spotlight shone and them, leaving Hoffman looking isolated and silly. A shame for Hoffman, who no doubt put a lot of effort into the deal, but whether it's a shame for the club in the long term remains to be seen. So, for the time being, we're stuck with Sisu. But if you thought Sisu were serious about running Coventry City, wait until you hear what they're reportedly about to do: They're going to sell Ben Turner (last year's best defender in the division and City's best player overall) for £750,000 plus Cardiff's Jon Parkin (valued at £100,000). That, if it were true, would be the worst piece of business this football club has ever done. Is Turner near the end of his contract? No. Is Parkin a player that we need? No. Is £850,000 a fair valuation of Ben Turner? Not even close. .................................................Not my words. This is CET words.
Grenduffy says........."On Westwood he claims not be offered a contract when clearly he had."...........................................Another of your "Estimated Facts" again eh ? ........................Research Grenduffy, Westwood said in the Telegraph, "I want to renew my contract" but nobody listened to him for months after that! Have a guess what I've just found????????.................................................................. brinner User Image 1413 posts First used 11/06/13 #60 31/08/2010 at 04:33 Westwood wanted to sign a new deal over a year ago, the club do nothing about this, it gets to the end of last season and Westy is speaking about a new deal, the club do nothing about this, Gets to August and the club begin to shit it as they thought another side would have been in by now with a £3-4 million plus offer for him but theres no intrest so they decide they better offer him a contract at long last or they risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season, by now Westy is pissed off with it all has seen no investment in the side yet again over the summer so has started to have second thoughts about staying and is now stalling on signing. Cant really blame him for that can you. You would have thought the club would have learned their lesson by now after this exact thing happend with Tabb last season..............................................................This is from a poster on another forum saying EXACTLY what I've always said. This isn't a "Estimated Fact" which is what you usually deal in Grenduffy.
Grenduffy says................"Whenever cold callers telephone you with good news on how to reduce loans do you just believe as they said so?">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I say. Do we all believe you with your "Estimated Facts" because YOU say they are facts?....I don't think so!
No Grenduffy, he's not my source, he is actually backing up what I've always said about the Westwood saga. Here's another link......http://www.football.co.uk/coventry_city/westwood__i_won_t_be_bullied_rss1209849.shtml
