Know that for a fact, do you?
Like most on here I read all I can about the City. That summer Murphy was quoted as saying he wanted to stay and was prepared to take a wage cut. However, Pressley never stated that he was willing to negotiate, things were allowed to drift and I am sure Murphy just needed to sort his future out. It was never stated that Murphy had been offered a contract.
You may remember that it was reported in the press at the start of the previous season that Coventry's 4 "big wage earners", namely Clarke, Mousa, Baker and Murphy would be off loaded due to the Sixfields move and the consequent drop in income. The first two had already gone. It seems Baker and Murphy were simply frozen out in the manner of the bomb squad from the previous year. Pressley should have come out and said that they were going for financial reasons.

Cody mcdonald also scored something like 40 in 100 ganes after leaving us. Would have been handy when Wilson got injured and Clarke buggerred off

Having scored 7 in 40 for us. Yes I'm sure that's a popular one.

imo , in most opinion
you drag up his stats from first and last seasons, and disprove my facts, then sir, i will agree you have the footballing knowledge of kings

Nothing to do with stats.
I someone likes a player for what ever reason that is their choice as it is yours to dislike someone.
I know plenty that both loved and hated Adibola. I have also seen threads on here that are for and against JOB....
So it is all about opinions and what you expect from a player they can't all be 10, 20, or 30 goals a season superstars.
I know plenty that love Rooney I think he is over rated JMO.

People still pine for Carl Baker. The bloke was useless barring a couple of outstanding performances a season. Why do our fans love all players who interact on social media despite how crap they might be.. RCC, Gunnarsson, Reda, 'Bakes'... All loved despite being average at best, baffling and weird.

I never follow social media so no idea what Baker said on there. I think he was an excellent player for us particularly his two seasons with us in League 1. Just looked up his stats. He scored 28 goals in 147 games, a goal every 5 games, an excellent strike rate for a wide player. In those two league one seasons he scored over 20 goals and had numerous assists. I felt he always gave 100% whenever he played. He would not compare to players we had in the top flight but that isn't the point. In my opinion he was good in the leagues he played in. I enjoyed seeing him play for us as he often made things happen. Two great memories, his goal against Preston in the JPT and his goal from the half way line to seal an away win at Rotherham. Anyone who saw his performance for MK at the Ricoh last season saw what we were missing. He was also the MK player of the year last season. Seems they didn't think he was crap either.

Not a bad return considering how many minutes he played. Our top scorer last season (Nouble) got only 7 goals. James Maddison who has practically been elected to superstar status by many fans, scored only 1 in 16 games last season, far worse than McDonald.

We let him go for free then he scored a goal every 2.5 games since.
In his career he has pretty much scored a goal every second game.

Every now and then you get a player who just fits well with a club. Cody and Gillingham seem to work, he didn't work out here. He was also one of our highest earners, who the Gillingham chairman said we paid him x3 the amount they were. We couldn't afford to have such high wages on the bench, especially those that didn't produce for us. We were right to let him go.
