Grimsby only total an attendance of 248 for EFL Trophy game, including just 3 Sunderland away fans.

Even though there were only 3 of them, I still bet at least one of the Sunderland fans spent the entire game moaning about the City v Bristol 2-2 draw in 1977.

It shocks me this. You can argue that it's only a reserve team, but for family to not even bother! If my son was playing in a professional cup at the age of 18/19 just family members alone we'd probably tale a dozen or so. It's closer that 90% of their games, so in comparison to everywhere other than the northern Yorkshire clubs, it is a short drive.

Newcastle had a very low turnout at Highfield Road after their relegation was confirmed in 78 I believe. Night game and there were low teens in the kop corner.
I can remember a game st Easter 73 when we played Sheffield United at a 3 sided Bramhall lane where we took 1 red house coach and that wasn't full.
