Palmer the most technical player in the championship? The simple facts are a midfield of Eccles, sheaf and palmer is not going to get you into the top 6.
Palmer although probably the most technical player probably in the championship isn’t consistent enough or delivers enough. A nearly man. I like him but you won’t win anything with Palmer as he has no end product.
A holding midfield of Eccles and sheaf will give you one thing and a defensive structure and that’s it.
How many goals you going to get out of those three this season? 6,7 or 8? Not enough or good enough from three midfielders. That area needs revamping next and hope we can stay around the mix until January as I’m convinced it’ll be strengthened.
Not a freak season, a season where we had 2 Prem Level superstars all season and a boost of points when Cal played. Other than them, our team was average at best (sorry, true). Jamie Allen and Tavares coming back isn’t going to improve our team to top level.
Not nonsense at all. The quality was heavily lacking, Luton finished 3rd comfortably, we got 5th with 70 points which usually wouldn’t even get you in the playoffs. This season comparatively is very strong and we won’t get there with Allen and co starting games.Freak season my arse, what nonsense.
I think he means it was a freak season in that the points needed was ridiculously low. If we get 70 points again this season we’ll likely finish about 8th or 9th.Freak season my arse, what nonsense.

He is a very technical player that opposition fans compliment on regularly.Palmer the most technical player in the championship?
Where was his technique when he lashed the rebound 20 yards over the bar from the penalty? And that sort of finish is the norm from Palmer unfortunately
Ok, let’s look at the performance of the promoted teams so far.Less points getting you into the top 6 could indicate the league was actually stronger!
As for lack of quality, look at the prices some of the players who played for top 6 teams have gone for recently.
Theres a trend on here that sees people trying to run down city's achievements to try and prove their point.
We even had people trying to run down the FA Cup win a few months ago to try and bolster their argument that Robins is a better manager than Sillett!

It’s an inarguable fact that last year was a weak league.
Not gonna argue any more, but it is fairly obvious last year's league was weak. And this years will be far stronger. That proves absolutely nothing, it could be the EPL is stronger.
It's very difficult to say whether a league is stronger or weaker from one season to another to be honest. And promoted teams doing poorly after playing 3 or 4 games each proves absolutely nothing.
According to many on here we blew our best chance of promotion in 21-22 because the league was weak that year and would be much stronger in 22-23!
Let's revisit this at the end of the season when we know what points the team finishing 6th achieveNot gonna argue any more, but it is fairly obvious last year's league was weak. And this years will be far stronger.
You think we’ll strengthen in midfield in January? The simple facts are a midfield of Eccles, sheaf and palmer is not going to get you into the top 6.

Do you think it’s good enough that we sold the best midfielder in the league and didn’t replace him? There are some dickheads on here. "Why didn't we replace Hamer?".... simple answer... We couldn't afford to replace him. Hamer took 2 seasons to become the player he is. If it was up to the same people, he wouldn't have developed into the player he is.
We bring in a loan signing and he's not good enough...

Early results tend indicate that - new contenders in Hull, Birmingham, Preston and Ipswich. Promoted teams (Ipswich again) not dead cert relegation candidates. Covid induced financials have now run out. Money is talking again. Not gonna argue any more, but it is fairly obvious last year's league was weak. And this years will be far stronger.
We probably got quoted stupid money for targets.Do you think it’s good enough that we sold the best midfielder in the league and didn’t replace him?
Yeah fair comment. Hopefully we can manage until JanuaryWe probably got quoted stupid money for targets.

if sheaf gets injured we’re fucked
Last year we had Hamer. How many of those 10 games did he play?We aren't.
He missed 10 games last season. We won 7 and drew 3 of them. Same like O'Hare, people said we would get relegated without him and in the end we were one Dabo away from promotion.
We've got some good players in the team but I don't believe any of them are as unexpendable or vital as say Gyökeres or Hamer at this point. If someone misses out our performance level shouldn't really drop.

An Eccles-Kelly midfield should terrify any sane fan.
It is irrelevant. Up until yesterday Eccles has been our best midfielder this season. Kelly also has been written off a million times but was exceptional in the last few games of last season. Whilst he isn't the solution, it is another thing people seem to forget.
The point is we would survive without Sheaf, like we would with anyone else in the team because frankly we haven't got any stand out players at this current moment in time. Last season we actually exceled in his absence, and the results prove that. None of our midfielders are as good as Hamer and we should be looking to upgrade across the board if we really want to hit the next level.
Allen is another one who shouldn't be anywhere near the XI if we're serious about top 6.
Last year was a freak season, probably one of the easiest ever to get playoffs in. I also wouldn’t really say he was key, he largely started when others were out injured.

Sheaf is our best midfielder and has already shown that this season.
Well, Burnley spent £30m on a goalkeeper and Sander Berge while then going on to bid £31.5m for Ian Maatsen.Or the promoted teams had less money this year than, say, Forest who signed 20 plus players pre-season when they went up?
Of course he has been, when you hate Eccles and Palmer as much as you do.
Across the first four games Eccles was slightly better. The reality is we need more quality in those positions regardless.
Hatred I think is really an emotion more attributed to you and the bizarre obsession with Dabo which is deeply disturbing
I do kind of see your point but we’re still pretty much hoping he avoids injury as otherwise that midfield is just too under strength. It is irrelevant. Great insight. Let’s bin the kid after 2 x 20 minute cameosAyari, while clearly talented, is so far off competitve football at this level is unbelievable
How some Brighton fans thought he should be around their first team is beyond me.
