Robins seems certain we‘ll turn it around again so that’s good enough for me, I’d love a win tomorrow but a draw won’t be a bad result either, just hope the fans stick with them for 90 mins no matter what, should be a cracking game
No you're not a dinosaur teams just trying to copy Manchester City but they haven't got the players good enough to implement what Pep Guardiola formation is trying to achieve, to me is just boring football.
Even when Fadz was out of the side he was captaining almost from the subs bench, you could see him warming up and talking the centre backs through the game. It's funny really but we barely kept a clean sheet after he'd gone to Blackburn.
Think that’s my only criticism of the manager. We are sitting here now we don’t know the team, but we know when the subs will be made.
And we know the positions which will be substituted. Doesn’t matter if someone is playing particularly well, they will go off between 60 -65 min .
Usually just after we have conceded a goal.
Just to be clear, in the past few days we've had people calling out for being shit:
Wilson, Collins, Dovin
Da Silva, Kitchen, Binks, Thomas, Lati
Sheaf, Eccles, Torp, Allen, Rudoni
Simms, Wright, BTA, EMC
So on Saturday (unless ive missed these guys being slagged off) it looks like young Bell in goal, a half fit Bidwell alongside MVE at the back, Tats in midfield, with Bassette and Tavares up top and probably Andrews and a few youth teamers to fill the gaps.
For good measure, half want Robins out, we have too many coaches (especially the science woman doctor), Doug gets involved too much, no idea how our goalkeeping coach has a job and Big Sam is waiting in the wings as part of a Mike Ashley takeover.
You have a match day squad of 18-20? You may need a couple of physios/sports therapists to manage the warm-ups / ‘pre-hab’ and of course treatment.
Have you ever been around a sports team on a matchday? My routine would be (as an amateur), get ready, have a bit of a jog/piss about and then the physio(s) would take us through the warm-up/prehab and then split off into groups by position. You see this basic structure in our warm ups on match days. The difference is that this is obviously a more professional operation.
For someone who feels so strongly about this, I’d have expected you to have a clearer idea of what the problem is exactly.
The underlying data metrics support this argument too. I have no problems with Eccles or Sheaf, but it has to be one or the other in this system. That is, if we’re actually serious about our aspiration to be a promotion calibre team.
I’m pretty certain if you just added a player of Hamer or Sara’s quality in this team, we’d be a much more potent attacking force.
The defence needs work - too many soft goals conceded.
It's not looking good so far this season, lack of concentration poor positioning even Robins keeps swapping individuals and still the lapses keep happening but I applaud your optimism
