No, Netflix knows if you are using a VPN. I use SuperVPN on my phone here in hospital and it allows me to watch iPlayer, Mobdro, Showbox and the Sky Sports and Cinema apps. However when I tried to view Netflix I had a message on the screen "It appears you are using a VPN..."
Thing is, and its not just us its every FL club, most of those who go to home games will still go for the social experience as well as watching the match. I reckon watching a stream would probably be taken up by a lot of fans who go to games anyway, if it meant they didn't have to trudge along to cold, winter homes games AND they could watch away games too. It's a hell of a gamble to subscribe to the overseas one and hope that they don't spend their time shutting down people using VPN. Then again you could get away with it for ages with Netflix (possibly still can) and that's a behemoth of a company so it's tempting.
why would you need a vpn for sky sports and iplayer?
are you not in england currently?
Someone somewhere will work out a way to stream it in the UK, they always do. i doubt they'll go shouting from the roof tops and posting links all over twitter when they do, it'll be kept quite so they don't get taken down
Just subscribed to ifollow live match video from Portugal, so did not need a VPN. Used my Portuguese e-mail address and mobile number. I couldn't pay online with my Portuguese Visa Electron card, so used a UK Credit card instead. My subscription went through with no problem and is now active.
It probably went from your Portuguese IP address.
What postal address did you use?

So if UK payment details are fine all we really need is a VPN that they hopefully won't block during the season and we're rolling.
Yes it detects your IP address right enough - see my earlier posts.
They asked for the billing address associated with my credit card, which is a UK address. They did not ask for my residential address in Portugel. Not that it would have been a problem for me to provide it of course.
the big test will be the first game when you go to connect
I was a PlayerHD subscriber (subscribed til August) and today it neither recognised my email address for either sign in or a password reset. The site itself looks a load better though.
i need to cancel player hd so it doesnt auto renew
then if vpn works will register for overseas version
They removed the autorenew 'feature' a few weeks ago when they knew they were changing to iFollow.i need to cancel player hd so it doesnt auto renew

Might try and setup a vpn later to see if it will let me get the full thing.
The only country where using a VPN is illegal is China. At worst you would be breaching the terms and conditions and have your account cancelled. So you're now encouraging illegal behavior. Well done.
