Speaking as someone who had an away season ticket from 1999 until 2013 when we moved to Northampton (I couldn't have the away ST as I didn't buy a home ST), my circumstances changed, and this season has been my first ST since before covid - I think it's absolutely fair that the supporters who go to the most away games get first dibs on tickets.
If there are away allocations like Oxford where we could sell way more tickets, them that's just bad luck for those who don't have enough points, there have been several away games this season where tickets have still been available on general sale.
As the away ST doesn't exist any more, the points system is the best approach, even if it means people get frustrated at the lack of opportunity to attend when they want.
Yeah the away ST was great for us at the time, we don't live in Coventry, and it was before the days of buying tickets online, so to just be sent all the tickets through the post and never having to drive over to queue up was a godsend.I’ll have a look at 12pm if you’re still interested?
The away ST was a great idea when we basically never sold out our allocations and now it’s the case where’s there’s too much demand for supply that’s available.
The points system only an inconvenience when there’s a small allocation and everyone is competing for tickets.
Being sold out before 1500 or 1600+ is ridiculously quick!
Sorted! In the home stand opposite the SBA.
I will have my full Cov kit on so will give me a wave!In the home end right next the away fans…
if you are upper tier i might be sat next to youI will have my full Cov kit on so will give me a wave!
South upper 10.if you are upper tier i might be sat next to you
we really might be next to each other!South upper 10.
I was fishingLots of games haven't sold out this season, you just don't want to put the effort in and do the hard yards!
Glad there's someone like me. Been to 9 and missed 8 of the away games this season. My record for those gone to:Those that have bagged a ticket will be delighted to know I've got one and haven't seen us win away all season.
Nearest I got was Swansea but had to cry off due to illness.
Can you and Clint not just meet up somewhere else and leave us alone to get 3 pointsGlad there's someone like me. Been to 9 and missed 8 of the away games this season. My record for those gone to:

I'll wear a red rose in my lapel and be carrying copy of the Times.we really might be next to each other!
I’ve done it a few times (Sheff Wed/ Watford/ Crystal Palace), but the one that sticks out the most was Villa in the FA Cup in 1998. In the Holte End.Only did it once but in style. Sat in the Villa stand when we beat them 4-1 in 1995. enjoyed the result but not being able to celebrate really does put a dampener on it
That's a very fair point and something the club should crack down on, agreed. That’s true to an extent, however there’s supporters in these top points brackets that are purchasing away tickets to sell them on, in order to get their points. Hence why there’s a big WhatsApp group that are doing exactly this.
Then thanks for your service, but the club have clearly set out what's required, and given a decent enough period of time to amass the points. Going to 33 games in the 1924/25 season is great but largely irrelevant. And if he put in the hard yards over the years previously?
The fact that you didn't get your tickets until 12:53 suggest you might not have done the "hard yards" you think you have.I was fishingand caught a few whoppers including yourself.
I've been doing the "hard yards" for over 50 years.
Also the fact I got a ticket should give you a idea where my points are.
I've been to about 11 or 12 and only saw a win at my last game Watford.Glad there's someone like me. Been to 9 and missed 8 of the away games this season. My record for those gone to:

Thanks for the heads up. Just got mine - apart from Swindon this is the closest league ground to me.Tickets go on general sale tomorrow at 12pm in the home end for those who want to try.
Arcade as well. Get collecting the tickets for that £67 pencil caseThere's a bowling alley opposite that we went into last time I went. Plenty of space in there for a drink and it's next door.
Looking at the map, The Blackbird seems the closest actual boozer.

Good luck in the Blackbird! Pretty poor district of Oxford, I’d steer clear if I were you. There's a bowling alley opposite that we went into last time I went. Plenty of space in there for a drink and it's next door.

We went Oxford in league one and they battered us. Before half-time they had scored 3 and the bars were closed so we decided to leave and go get pissed. We were meant to be meeting a mate's uncle who was an Oxford fan after the match so we ended up going a TGIs sorta place opposite the ground and waiting there, got far too pissed and were kicked out of there for singing eventually.Good luck in the Blackbird! We did the same, left at HT but decided to head back to Coventry as a pal was driving. We were back in Cov town by time the the final whistle wentWe went Oxford in league one and they battered us. Anyway met him after the game and walked to the Blackbird through a little wood and an estate, he was properly nervous and kept telling us how rough it is in there and for us to not act up (no chance of that in our state). As we got in my mate rugby tackled a Christmas tree through the door and spent the next hour or so dancing with it with the owner telling him off every now and again. We were just as loud and visible in there and were absolutely fine and having a laugh with most of the people. It was mainly full of normal footy fans and kids.
I think if you have been to just a handful of pubs in Cov you'll be fine in here. We weren't in colours and Oxford won so maybe that helped but it's like anywhere if you're not a prick (which some would deem us as being) you'll be fine.
Can we resurrect the Cov is a city and not a town thread please? We did the same, left at HT but decided to head back to Coventry as a pal was driving. We were back in Cov town by time the the final whistle went
Love it!As we got in my mate rugby tackled a Christmas tree through the door and spent the next hour or so dancing with it
Not many tickets left for anyone still wanting to go in the home end. See lots of Cov on X that have purchased in the home end.
