Great result. Must have been a marvelous day out. Hopefully I may get to the Sheff Utd game , new knee joint permitting.

Fingers crossed mate. Was meant to be going but the fixture change has screwed that. That's the way it is now.

Totally agree. Cc4L has become very weird lately , shame as he can be a decent poster
Haha what r u on about? In what world am I wrong in this one? I asked him what his issue was with league1champs original post and then I gave a very fair assessment on Eccles. He is the one that replied with take it up with lampard cos he was so defensive.

Great result 👏
3 really top goals. Good presence of mind by EMC for his goal. Thought it was a nice controlled first half, but a sense of disorganization for large bits of the second half and couldn't get a sense of what the midfield was trying to accomplish. Sad for Simms on the missed penalty. Saw him walking up to take it and figured if he scored he'd go on to terrorize full of confidence, but if he didn't score might shake him up for a few games. Good to see Haji back, offsides and all notwithstanding.

Best wishes to all.

Wow - if only this logic was utilised when discussing Dasilva on here 🤣

But Bidwell gets better crosses in when forward than DaSilva. Dasilva's problem is he seems weak defensively and in attack, he just doesn't take risks. Bidwell has good games in both areas. Dasilva at best just does okay. Okay today Bidwell had a poor game defensively but put some good ball in higher up the pitch.

Okay we won today but off the back of a lot of mediocre performances. Oxford were never going to just roll over. It was a tough fixture and they found ways to exploit our tactics.

We ground a win out and we can take credit for that. But it was far from convincing.

Eccles and Bidwell were pretty shite today, but we won again so doesn't really matter.
Eccles is easily replaced when everyone is fit. LB however is a problem area that I wish was addressed in January. Bidwell definitely has these games in him but the alternative is bloody Dasilva. You'd want someone better than both ideally.
The weakest position in our first 11 when everyone’s fit in my opinion, and I genuinely do like Bidwell he’s been a good player for us

Was coming down our left all game and I would love us to go and get a Milan esque left back in the summer as first choice

It's starting to feel like the 2022-23 season. A late run for the play offs. Every game now matters and seems like a cup final. And I'm totally on edge - I can only really enjoy the win hours after the final whistle. I was convinced after half time we'd blown it today. This is everything I wanted but I'd forgotten how tense it can be to be in this position.

As I think I heard on the cov pod the other day from Dawkins - we have a remarkable and simply unbelievable story. L2, without a home, followed by those promotions, Notts County, the narrow miss vs Luton, Twist and Shout for 20 minutes around the ground vs. Birmingham, Wolves, United at Wembley and now this charge this season in front of regular 29.000 fans at home.

We are very lucky to be on this journey - honestly could never have imagined these days. As someone who was fortunate enough to know Jimmy Hill outside of football - I am so proud of this club and I know he would be as well.

We are one point ahead of where we were in 2023 after 35 games but three places better off!

Oxford fan in peace. You were the much better side today, too much Championship nous for us along with some very good players. We huff and puff a lot and have had some decent results especially at the start of the season and I think we’ll stay up but always looking over our shoulder. You have a good side and Lampard seems to have hit his managerial straps with you. Good strong side fair play to you, and from someone who sits directly opposite the away fans I can safely say you lot were the noisiest so far this season. All the best lads good luck for the rest of the season👍🏻

Think you’ll comfortably stay up I actually thought you were decent today.

Goodrham always looks decent as does brannagan.

Placheta looked lively against our left back but I can imagine him frustrating you no end

People missing out today and there are 5 rows tarp'd off at the front

Shame and completely bizarre

Plus a massive blocked section between sets of fans. They always have this set up.

It's been an incredible turn around and if it falters then so be it.
Theyve done us proud, but I'm hopeful we could be on the verge of something special

We were not that comvincing today. But at the same time never looked like losing. The form stats show us on stunning form. I think we can play better. Rudoni probably out a few weeks but fortunately Torp will be back and Sheaf has already returned, so I don't think we are any weaker there. Wright back is a big plus and EMC has minutes back in the tank, so I think overall we are stronger than our last game. It also freshens up the team with players coming in and wanting to win.

We have the chance with upcoming fixtures to consolidate our play off place regardless of others. I said at the start of the season we would be in the playoffs at least, we have a strong squad. It just took some time to get going. Would Robin's have done the same if he was still here? I certainly think he would have improved a lot, but credit to Lampard, his presence has created something different and now he has set the bar high. It will be very interesting to see what happens over the final run in. This is where depth of squad matters the most, something I think we are blessed with.

We keep making it hard for ourselves. We looked in complete control for the first 15 minutes, scored a great goal and I thought it was going to be a comfortable afternoon. We then took our foot off the gas and allowed them back into it.
Did more than enough to win but again stupid errors allowed 2 goals. The new defensive formation is very narrow with both full backs tucked in close to the centre halfs. This leaves a lot of space out wide and Oxford played it pretty well to be fair to them. They overloaded down both sides . Bidwell had a good first half and was shithousing their winger the whole time. They pushed on second half and he struggled trying to mark 2 players.
Take the win and move on. The Rudoni Injury is worrying as he gives so much to the team. Hopefully it just needs some rehab and it's a few weeks rather than months. It had popped back in again. As he walked off he was swinging his arm which you can't do if it's still out.

Bidwell touched on the narrow defence before rhe game
Saying we defend to make them attack in ways that we can practice and know how to stop
Was more annoyed with the second equaliser

Their fullback, Kioso, was lucky to stay on the pitch. He was the one who fell on Rudoni, gave away the penalty for the shirt pull and foul on Thomas, fouled Bidwell on the follow up shot and finally fouled EMC for the free kick leading to the goal.
He was involved in several other fouls too, seems he likes to be ‘in the game’ a bit too much.
