A fairly comfortable night in the end, Wilson was a spectator. Great to see Ben Sheaf getting some minutes, hopefully starting on Saturday.
I know we need sheaf but it might be to soon for him to start a game , we don’t want him breaking down again.

Thanks for the earlier messages friends, really appreciate it. Every day is less of a challenge than the one before, and that is to be celebrated.

As far as the game today, unfortunately could not watch it live but awesome for BTA to get off the mark and now think it is shaping up nicely to really make a deep cup run. Bring on the next round!

That's fair and I tend to agree .
Like I said I don't sit in a camp that just doesn't like a player . Thomas is struggling currently in my opinion and Lati has been playing better centrally. Robins obviously trusts him to as he makes him captain.
Personally want to see Thomas and Kitching back to last season's highs as on form they are our best two centre backs
It seems you agree with me on the whole then. I guess our approaches are just different. I'd be starting Thomas every week, unless players are having an absolute mare it's better for them to play their way into form IMO.

Pretty straight forward that, Wilson won't have an easier days work in his career

Would love a tie against one of the big boys at home, we have only ever had Chelsea down there in my time! So I'm prepared for us to pull out Barnsley or Preston away :ROFLMAO:

We are too easy to defend agains when teams play a low block.

None of our midfield make third man runs, everything is in front of the play. Predictable.

Tonight was comfortable but should have been very comfortable and in the end we were left vulnerable to a late equaliser.

Notable performances from

Norman
BTA
JDS
Sheaf and Torp when they came on
EMC when moved to the left.

Who is everyone wanting anyway?

Must admit if we get an away tie I'd love to visit Goodison Park with us before it is flattened at the end of the season

completely agree with this, and would add that MVE also exceptional when he came on, and I thought Kitching was very good…

we need to sort the midfield out to play out from the back and control games, and hopefully Sheaf will allow us to do that more, particularly if Torp and Rudoni go up another level as a result too, but we still need another midfielder capable of breaking the lines and dragging opposition midfielders / defenders out of position

That will all be sorted when Billing signs and scores 30 from midfield.

I don't get this new modernism of having to have a left and right footer at CB. It's not deemed an issue in midfield and it's not hampered some of the best defenses in the world historically...
I think the fashion for playing out from the back has made a huge difference in his regard to historical views of defending and the required capabilities …

I was impressed by Bassette last night. The similarities with Gykores are plain for all to see.

It’s important we don’t put pressure on the lad by expecting him to be the second coming of Vik because few players in the world are.

If he turns out to be a top Championship striker I will be more than happy.

I get that, still silly tho IMO. You could argue that Binks at RCB would offer better aaatbability than Thomas who's passing radar has been off since Christmas!
