Palmer leaving (1 Viewer)

I thought it was very clear that MR’s comments after the game were directed at / specific to Palmer…

I imagine he was told to go out, apply himself, and demonstrate his ability to control the midfield and dictate the pace of play…

Sadly, for whatever reason (perhaps including ‘luck’) he didn’t do that. I imagine that was the last chance saloon, and he simply failed to rise to the occasion.

His defensive work rate has always let him down and leaves us wide open at times with his reluctance to track back .
He works hard in attacking areas but with our shape he has to do the hard yards more

Might not be related in any way but could it have any connection with Adi Viveash leaving? Was at Chelsea with him and instrumental in bringing him to City.

unless you can see the future this only happened past 24 hrs

I dunno I posted back in may and after to expect Palmer to leave this summer as he and his agent have a vastly inflated view of how good he actually is. I'm sure someone can dig it out

The actual club he's going to yea I'm sure you're right materialised the last 24 hours but it's been on the cards all summer

Be a shame if he left as shit as he is most of the time, he is unplayable against elite opponents and would actually be class in the prem.
His performance against wolves in the Fa cup was one of the best I have ever seen from a city midfielder, and I’ve been a season ticket holder for 30 years.
Oggy is that you?

I heard at the Everton game that all wasn't well with KP and that the club weren't going to be offering a contract extension. The person who told me gave the impression that they were a bit in the know but wouldnt say more and i didn't put anything on here because for all I knew it was just terrace bullshit.

Makes me wonder if it's to do with Ady leaving, I always thought he was more of an Ady player than MR.

Now Sheaf is back and even with Palmer going, I'd like to see Rudoni drop deeper as I reckon he gould play next to Sheaf and enable us to get EMC ir even Thomas-Asante in the 10 role. Decent engine and range of passing could be more Hamer like with better players around him I think.

Obviously didn't work hard enough on contrary barstardness.

😂
Nah, he sees that as a strength rather than a weakness 🤣

I’ve been one to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it has to be said, you do love a doom story. Might be worth being more positive occasionally.
This is my problem with it. I'm not bothered if there's loose lips although tbh would prefer guessing speculation rather than leaks, but it seems there's always an agenda to only share the negative shit and I'd rather he said nothing at all.

If Palmer leaves and we bring in a deeper lying box-to-box type then it suggests to me we're looking more to play 433 than 4231 and have been forced into the latter due to the absence of quality in the middle to start the season.
I’m pretty sure Robins wants to play a flatter midfield, 6 and two 8s if you like. Started that way at Stoke but reverted quickly to using a 10.

Robins has obviously been trying to get rid as he knows full well he can get more for his money elsewhere. Palmer has talent but is simply not consistent enough in terms of end product.
Having watched Allen Torp and Eccles play together in midfield, I'd be very worried if KP was allowed to leave.

Hopefully whoever is in the pipeline to replace him will be able to add some real quality.
