I remember a few games at Highfield road that were as bad, or worse.

One when we played Watford in a replay of a cup match after drawing 2-2 at their place. It was worse than Saturday. I recall peter Bodak flicking the ball up out of the water before smashing it towards goal. (may have scored..) Mind you, we won 5-0 so no-one complained about the pitch then....

Yeah remember both games, away as well. Had a bit of shit down there afterwards, my brother somehow ended up minus his shoes.

Yes. Peter Bodaks opening goal was an absolute screamer from way out on the right. Flight of the ball totally bamboozled the Watford keeper (Sherwood ?) as it corkscrewed through the air.

The ground staff couldn't get the forks into the pitch at half time. The surface was like concrete with grass on top.
Standing water certainly ruined City's early efforts, and who knows what the feck Grimmer was doing for their goal. Having said that, the marking in the centre was appalling as well.

The qtr final of the league cup 1980/81?
Strangely, what I associate more with that game than thrashing Watford to reach the semi final was John Lennon being murdered that day.

It isn't being well maintained, whether that is down to Wasps' lack of cash or the competence of the groundsman or both, I don't know.

You would have thought they would be out pre game too? I bet they were only out at half time because it was on tv.

Wasps sabotaged the pitch on purpose.

They don't want us to get promotion and be successful as it will damage their attendances.

Of course this is a conspiracy theory, but enjoy it nonetheless... It wouldn't completely surprise me!
