Have just seen they’ve closed Winding House Lane after the game too. Does anyone know how this affects parking at Christ the King?

those in Tesco carpark will be fine turning left only towards Coventry - they can't stop people from shopping and leaving the park its nothing to do with the crowds at CBS - the road closure goes up to that junction

The problem we had last year was people queuing and waiting for the road to open meant nobody could get out.

I thought that the traffic lights there were operational to let not only the traffic from Tescos out but Carpark C ?

We usually turn left and go to the M6 but they stopped the left turn out of CTK to keep the road clear. We had to turn right out of CtK and then left at the lights, in to town and out the other side. Painstakingly slow. I see they are showing an alternative of turning right at the lights then three right turned to get to the island by the Novotel. I guess that will be slow as well.
A lot of disruption to protect people from their own stupidity

They are but the roundabout becomes congested of people waiting to turn right which means no one moves. Was a 45 min wait to get out last year for the games where the road closures were in place.

So you can turn right out of CTK no problem? I would have gone right and then right down Wheelwright Lane to the M6 anyway.

We park in CTK and when they closed the A444 last season it didn't. affect CTK you just had to turn right out of the car park
I assume it will be the same this year

Me and my daughter are staying in the arena hotel for the game tomorrow. Anyone know if there is designated hotel parking?

Hopefully means you can walk back to the CTK car park without having cars flooring it on the wrong side of the road coming out of Burbages Lane. That was happening at the pre-season games when there were no road closures simply because they couldn't be bothered to follow the correct route and use the roundabout.

Serious answer is that when they closed Winding House Lane previously they would let you go right out of CTK but I think until the first game you have to work on the assumption it will be closed and if you can get out that's a bonus.

Previous closures cars did turn right out of Burbages on to Winding House which restricted the right turn out of CtK.
The official notice gives the alternative route from Winding House Lane turning right towards Ash Green

I would love to walk, would take me 20h 35 mins though.

I once walked to HR from Kingsbury, took the best part of 5 hours I think. (True story)
Didn’t have to walk back, Someone lent me the £2.40 to get the train back to Tamuff

There are no Arena zone signs on Streetview like on all the residential streets. I'll give it a go tomorrow and report back keep it to myself if it is still free! Just a short walk through Sowe Valley Park (or something) then the bridges over the canal and railway into the North side of the CBS.

If you go that way through the park up to the bridge, don't wear your best shoes!!!

Yep - well aware! I'll wear my fastest ones!!!
It used to be really handy that the people who operated the site at the top end of Blackburn Road used to let you cut down to the canal through their yard for 50p on matchdays. Miserable buggers have built on it!

Did you not ask when you made the booking.

Give them a call, I'm sure they will be happy to help.

They'll force everyone onto public transport that can , provide a decent service and it's fine by me, not others who are further out, once they get the required level, watch a planning application go in for development of,1.or 2 car parks!!

Really need to sort the trains and a longer platform out, out of the clubs hands though

MVE celebrating wins with Singers Corner will be responsible for extended duration of road closures as supporters will not be leaving the stadium in a timely fashion. 😀
