Used to be able to park on both sides of Blackburn road but for the most part one side is a lorry park . If you arrive less than 90 mins before kick off with a big crowd expected you'll be lucky to get a spot .

Didn't bother trying to park.
Got the bus up and taxi back to Willenhall from the shopping centre bus station for £20.
Home at 10.25.

Yeah with the a444 closed all of the lorries were going round and through ash green to get to the industrial estate.

They've got greedy and taken way more bookings than the site can cope with. If that keep that up it will be absolute carnage when the weather turns, be cars getting stuck all over the place.
Also doesn't help that everyone thinks they're more important than everyone else and don't need to join the queue so you end up with about 5 different queues of cars trying to get through a space for one.

Been parking in car park A for a few years (disabled family members plus we have a 7/8 hour round trip so closest to the motorway). I can't understand why they've shut the roundabout as the majority of the fans cross over further down and couldn't just funnel that car park and the ones over the road onto the motorway rather than just plain close it. There has to be a better way of doing it.
It was fine tonight but come a wet midweek game in the winter, it's going to be a nightmare sitting there after the radio show has finished, especially when it's a 2am arrival home.

We always park in CtK; have had ST there for several seasons. Getting out is not usually a problem.We didn't get out last night until just before 11:00. Slight upside was the journey home was quicker than normal as there were no other hold ups so just over 30 min later than normal. I doubt that they will open the field once the ground gets softer.
Another exit out of there,left only should be the answer really,I can't believe they don't understand this but it is an unofficial article park, still an inconvenience to shoppers though isn't it! What is blocking for example a route to the City bound island?

It was wierd, we got back around 10 15, the cars at top of ramp seemed to be flowing out quite quickly, but by the time we'd got in our car and joined the queue erything stopped.
Not one car moved up the ramp in nearly half an hour, we couldn't see the exit on to the road from our position but it was odd how it all ground to a halt. Is this the normal weekly occurance?
We assumed it was down to people on foot stopping cars getting out as there is no vehicle traffic on Burbages Lane.

Again though. All of the traffic was diverted through ash green. There were massive lorries trying to get to pro logis so the main road was a nightmare. Burbages lane is always busy.

Slightly concerned that they have massively oversold season tickets. It’s been rammed even for the pre-season games and they still have season tickets on sale.
As you say when the weather turns it will be an absolute nightmare if they still try and use the pitches, not to mention they will be absolutely fucked for playing on them. The regular car park there gets a bit swampy when it’s bad weather, would be insanity if they’re planning to keep parking people on the pitch in the winter.
Not a bad shout, they could cone off one side of the road to allow traffic down to the M6.
Although it seems pretty pointless closing that road at all if they're going to do nothing to stop idiots coming out of Burbages Lane and flooring it on the wrong side of the road when the road is full of people walking under the impression the road is closed. Saw several very near misses last night.
They'd put cones across the junction to stop what has happened in the past where people came down the wrong side of Burbages and then used the turn from Winding House to go right so rather than getting the message there was idiots turning right and driving down the wrong side of Winding House. No point closing the roads to prevent accidents if they're going to allow that to keep happening.
Its not people not knowing how crossings work, its the crossings aren't designed to take the volume of people now attending games. Add in that drivers don't see any need to slow down or take extra care when 30K people are trying to exit and it's asking for trouble.
Plus there's a fairly steep set of stairs if you walk round from the casino side that come out right onto a crossing. That's clearly not designed for the number of people using it and you only need there to be a bit of pushing and someone to fall and you could easily have people getting pushed into the road.

It was a bit silly of the council to build a stadium with 32,000 capacity without providing adequate infrastructure for safe ingress / egress. The council should do something to rectify that oversight on their part.

It was, I believe, deliberate because there was a 'green travel plan' which had to be in place for all major events.
I seem to recall the original plan involved a shuttle train which obviously never happened but there was initially buses from all over the city to games as well as park and ride.
I used to park at the business park by JLR and there was park and ride from there which worked brilliantly.
Of course it all stopped over time and nobody really questioned it. I guess as we were busy falling down the divisions nobody really gave a shit.
