Hi mate, they don’t have the money and have said they are not able too. That's scandalous to be honest.
Any talk of the club challenging the ruling in court or is that possible seen as the season ended as the result of a vote?
Thanks mate and best wishes to Hearts- again a real danger they maybe demoted too with still 8 games left which is enough for Hearts to get off bottomAs a Hearts fan I have been following this really closely. It's an utter disgrace.
There are growing calls for an independent enquiry into the SPFL's handling of the situation as it's been handled really badly.
Anyway, best wishes to The Jags. Have just contributed a tenner.
Presumably 2 pts behind with a game in hand if they're near the bottom that extra game isn't worth 2 points to them so they'd still go down. The fairest solution if they can't complete, would imo, be to promote teams but not relegate and then do less up more down next season to compensate when everyone starts on a level knowing the rules in advance.I just can't see how they can justify such an arbitrary decision. It seems totally unfair. If the leagues have to end then surely a ppg system is much fairer. In these circumstances, why have relegation at all? Just promote clubs at the top of their leagues and have more relegation places next season. I also don't understand why the SPL can finish through games being played but the other leagues can't. If it is a question of money for smaller clubs to survive could they not distribute the minimum amount that each club would get, then give out any extra when leagues are completed?
Good luck to Partick
Hearts won’t be relegated as their chief exec is in charge of working it all out
Sorry Partick you had chance to get enough points
Hi Coventry City fans
As you may be aware as Scottish football wrapped up early Partick Thistle were controversially demoted from the Scottish championship to League one despite being only 2 points behind second bottom with a game still in hand and 27 points to play for.
Needless to say such a move affects the very future of the club and non playing staff as much as anyone.
There is a fundraiser for Partick Thistle if anyone is interested in contributing there is a link here
HELP THE JAGS organized by Caroline Mackie
thank you for your time. Please take care and stay safe and the very best to Coventry City when the football returns

That could be overcome. Use the league cup as a pre season and then only play each other once next season. Luck of the draw who you get at home or away, but approx a dozen of each.Already gone through this. Promotion but no relegation means more games to play less season with a high likelihood of disruption due to new lockdown to manage cases. Just asking for even bigger problems later on.
Finish this season, however long it takes, and if we're then in a position to play next season brilliant. If not we miss a season out and use 2021/22. Even if that starts a bit early it gives leeway in case of further restrictions, or an opportunity to test out a winter break post Xmas

There is a multi million pound sponsorship attached to the League Cup and they wouldn’t be happy with it becoming a pre season competition
Could be renegotiated. I'm sure they'd be happier with 100% viewing as the only competitive action rather tgan scrapped altogether which is the suggested option by most. There is a multi million pound sponsorship attached to the League Cup and they wouldn’t be happy with it becoming a pre season competition
Didn't he finance some new training facilities and gift his shares to the fans ?What happened with funding from the guy who recently passed away ? Was is Colin Weir who won over £160m on the lottery ploughing money into the club
Hi mate, they don’t have the money and have said they are not able too.
this is the second major time Partick Thistle have been shafted in just over a decade - the SPFL told us to get into the premier league we needed a 10,000 seater stadium so we had to spend £1.5 million to expand the stadium - they denied other teams promotion because of it hence why we had to build then. Then they decided to change the rules and let a team with 3000 seats come up while we had been crippled with debt building the extra stand.
To demote a team in this pandemic in an incomplete season with peoples livelihoods on the line is just wrong

Also it doesnt mean more games other than in the top division!
Ok, so next season becomes an absolute lottery in terms of fixtures.
You're creating issues where there doesn't need to be any. Rather than constrain yourself to a timescale for two seasons and end up fucking them both you can give yourself some leeway and make sure his one is done properly.
If you've been ill for a sustained period at work and the boss says "right, you've got a choice. You can ignore the next project you were supposed to be working on by now and finish the job you were doing before your illness properly even if it takes a bit longer to finish. Try to get it done as quickly as you can, but if it takes a bit longer and you need a bit more time off don't worry. Or, you can just leave that one as is and say it's done even when it isn't, and some of the clients won't be happy and complain, and start your next job which has to be completed by this time even though we know you may have to have more time off and that job ends up half finished too."
I agree with S B D on this. What would you like to happen would you void this season and start again in August or whenever the season could be started? This isn’t ever going to happen

skybluesam 66 You say Patrick Thistle had enough chance to get the points .No they started the season with 36 games to play not 27 if our season finished at Christmas would you have said Coventry you cannot go up you have not go enough points. You either play the season to the end (my choice) or it is void and if the latter happens I think you see a decrease in attendences.
I'm very sorry for the position Partick Thistle find themselves in. I'm glad SPFL dont run our setup.
TV money keeps the game alive and without it football ceases to exist. Your analogy is therefore irrelevant
Football wouldn't cease to exist at all. It would just have to reassess it's finances and transfer spending and wage structures. Maybe kicking a bag of air around isn't worth £300k a week and a player isn't worth £100m?
yes i would - and more so after 3/4 of the season goneI agree with S B D on this. What would you like to happen would you void this season and start again in August or whenever the season could be started?

mmm You really have a clue have you? That’s never ever going to happen.
Market conditions. If the TV companies ain't willing to part with the dosh you ain't gonna be able to pay those wages. Which leaves players with the choice to either accept lower wages reflecting the change in circumstances or go into another profession that will. Given the average intelligence and transferable skills of a footballer good luck with that.
I would finish it no matter even if it goes into time allowed for next season. The Partick Thistle situation I think it stinks the way Dundee's deciding vote NO , NO, YESyes i would - and more so after 3/4 of the season gone
I would rather the season be played to a finish, but if that cant be done by mid july latest, then it should be ppg
most of these players are on contracts which will have get out clauses if wages are reduced and premier league wages would be halved. So Kane could leave for free. Great thinking
