Hi Coventry City fans
As you may be aware as Scottish football wrapped up early Partick Thistle were controversially demoted from the Scottish championship to League one despite being only 2 points behind second bottom with a game still in hand and 27 points to play for.
Needless to say such a move affects the very future of the club and non playing staff as much as anyone.

There are growing calls for an independent enquiry into the SPFL's handling of the situation as it's been handled really badly.

Hi mate, they don’t have the money and have said they are not able too.

this is the second major time Partick Thistle have been shafted in just over a decade - the SPFL told us to get into the premier league we needed a 10,000 seater stadium so we had to spend £1.5 million to expand the stadium - they denied other teams promotion because of it hence why we had to build then. Then they decided to change the rules and let a team with 3000 seats come up while we had been crippled with debt building the extra stand.
To demote a team in this pandemic in an incomplete season with peoples livelihoods on the line is just wrong

I just can't see how they can justify such an arbitrary decision. It seems totally unfair. If the leagues have to end then surely a ppg system is much fairer. In these circumstances, why have relegation at all? Just promote clubs at the top of their leagues and have more relegation places next season. I also don't understand why the SPL can finish through games being played but the other leagues can't. If it is a question of money for smaller clubs to survive could they not distribute the minimum amount that each club would get, then give out any extra when leagues are completed?

Presumably 2 pts behind with a game in hand if they're near the bottom that extra game isn't worth 2 points to them so they'd still go down. The fairest solution if they can't complete, would imo, be to promote teams but not relegate and then do less up more down next season to compensate when everyone starts on a level knowing the rules in advance.

Doesn't mean it'll be accepted. Hearts could still be relegated without playing another match. There's so much skull-duggery I could believe anything. Hearts are one the biggest teams in Scotland outside the Old Firm so the others might want to keep them up just for the tv money, esp with Dundee Utd coming back up. Anything could happen.

Could be renegotiated. I'm sure they'd be happier with 100% viewing as the only competitive action rather tgan scrapped altogether which is the suggested option by most.

Didn't that impact Falkirk aswell? They had to build four thousand more seats?

You're creating issues where there doesn't need to be any. Rather than constrain yourself to a timescale for two seasons and end up fucking them both you can give yourself some leeway and make sure his one is done properly.

If you've been ill for a sustained period at work and the boss says "right, you've got a choice. You can ignore the next project you were supposed to be working on by now and finish the job you were doing before your illness properly even if it takes a bit longer to finish. Try to get it done as quickly as you can, but if it takes a bit longer and you need a bit more time off don't worry. Or, you can just leave that one as is and say it's done even when it isn't, and some of the clients won't be happy and complain, and start your next job which has to be completed by this time even though we know you may have to have more time off and that job ends up half finished too."

It won’t happen as football has sold out to the TV world. Whatever the premier league decide - which is dictated by the TV money - we will fall into line as we will have no choice. The PL controls football and if they void the season that’s the end of that

Plus with my analogy do you not think the company would be being paid for both projects? But you potentially fucking up two projects and the effect it'd have on your brand and product long term or maintain it by finishing it off properly and deferring the income on the second project until that can be done properly as well.

If football can't survive without a multi-billion pound TV deal for one season maybe, just maybe, they should be looking at the sustainability of the business model and wonder if, just maybe, they're letting far too much of that cash haemorrage straight out in players wages. Would the players in the top league (or even the next one down) really be hard up if the decimal point was moved one place to the left on their wages?

Also it seems lower clubs want the season ended as to meet isolation rules they’d have to be out in hotels at clubs expenses for the remember of the season so many are pushing for it to be scrapped

You're supposed to be the rabid marketeer. If a business or industry can no longer sustain itself then it should die and be replaced by one that can. And whose to say there aren't transfer fees attached to those clauses? Post Bosman every club should factor in they could lose a player for nothing. If the business model is such that it could so easily fail as I say it needs to be made more robust.

Besides everyone domestically is in the same boat due to reduced TV money so if a player left on a free it'd still be the same situation regarding his wages elsewhere - he wouldn't get what he did before. If a foreign league gets better TV money and they go abroad then that's the market at work. No-one here was complaining when the Spanish and Italians were coming over here to play for the higher wages were they.

Plus we're in a relatively weak position finance wise so it'd be much better for CCFC to see wages and transfer fees come down in the higher divisions.
