SIGNING: James Pearson agrees non-contract terms with the Sky Blues

Does non contract just mean an extended trial but he can still play?

Much less of a gamble on him if he has issues with injuries.

Should have done this with Reda Johnson

Would think he would be on the bench as backup rather than starting 11 wouldn't he anyway?

He even writes blogs for CCFC, surely he has the brain capacity to see why we've done this?

A bit miffed with the non-contract bit. Leaves him open to walk away at any point. Surely a month by month contract would be better?

Half those who write "Blogs" for CCFC tend to not have a clue about the club or football itself.

If he proves his fitness, he will get a contract. We learned our lesson with Reda.

That's the thing, we could offer him 2 years today and him be out for a season.

Another word for pay as you play? Seems sensible given his injury record. If he impresses and plays we will most likely look at getting him on a contract

Which side does he play on?

I'm sure we've a agreement in place that has a 2 year deal activated once he triggers so many appearances or proves his fitness... etc.

I doubt MR would be wasting time on him otherwise if he's gonna walk away

Fantastic news. Nice to have this lovely young man with us.

He couldn't score in a brothel though...or could he?

Just to flip it around, before someone else beats me to it:

We're top of the league after 10 games. Pearson has been integral to our defence and we have shipped less than a goal a game. In come Fleetwood during November and offer him a bit more money than what we are paying. Pearson leaves. Our defence falls apart.

We're relegated. The end.

SISU OUT!!!

If he's played 10 consecutive games and been integral then I'm sure we'd of put the contract and a pen in front of him by that point.

I think the fact it's non contract terms have been accepted currently is the risk factor of him breaking down.

Or, we're bottom of the league after 10 games. Pearson played in 5 of them, 5 consecutive defeats. He's now injured for the rest of the season....

I'm happy for him to be with us not under contract. We can let him go. He can go when he likes. It is a way of him getting back into football.

But I can already see it. He plays well. He gets offered a contract elsewhere. He leaves. Supporters go into meltdown because one of 'our' players walks away.

MR could be waiting on his fitness and for others to leave before he commits money to a player with injury and disciplinary history, he is running on a tight budget so this deal makes sense to me. If you want to be negative it leave's us open for others to come in if he proves himself, but MR gets paid to make these decision's regarding the budget and players and will be judged by his squads and results.
