Kind of agree, but they never really get themselves into a position where they can win anything. Perhaps perennial underachievers would be a better moniker for them?Tottenham, end of contest
They’re very good at self destructing challenges for most things. Though as far as football’s concerned, England probably are top of the pileKind of agree, but they never really get themselves into a position where they can win anything. How is Raducanu a perennial choker at the ripe old age of 21 and, to my knowledge, having only ever appeared in one major final which she won?Given the utterly hopeless end to Rory McIlroy's final round in the US Open this weekend (three bogeys in the final 4 holes, including 2 putts that i could have holed), who would you say is his competition for worst perennial choker in sport?
I think he might even have overtaken Emma Raducanu and Katarina Johnson-Thompson!
Any other suggestions? Include most pathetic excuses too!
(And yes, i am missing football - the Euros don't do it for me!)

Noted and edited....and how is the double (and current) World Champion KJT on that list? Some proper poor examples in the OP.
Tim Henman and his stupid tory first pump, he was no Iain Dowie
I did mean fistActually, this probably belongs in the "Things that annoy you" thread, but the fact that the "fist pump" (maybe related to what Daz is on about) is the sole (and incessant) means of expressing any form of emotion by any tennis player these days. Bloody automatons, the lot of 'em!
Fisting and Tiger Tim in the same breath makes me feel quite unwell!I did mean fist
Only if he did his job wrongAlbert Pierrepoint.

I read his autobiography and I seem to remember one thing he was proud of was that everyone he executed was dispatched quickly as was supposed to happen. They didn't always get their calculations right you know.

He became very anti capital punishment after retiring.I read his autobiography and I seem to remember one thing he was proud of was that everyone he executed was dispatched quickly as was supposed to happen.
It was ages ago as my nan had it on a bookshelf in the room I slept in in her house so read it one summer. Seem to remember it was almost like a family business as a few other people in his family had the role as well.Ohhh sounds strangely interesting. What's it called
Yep. Another thing I remember is he didn't think his job had had any effect on reducing murders etc.He became very anti capital punishment after retiring.
Well one thing's for certain - Abolishing the death sentence hasn't either.Yep. Another thing I remember is he didn't think his job had had any effect on reducing murders etc.
Yeah. And having didn't either did it. Otherwise no-one would have ever received a death sentence would they and his autobiography would have been how he spent all day sitting on his arse doing fuck all!Well one thing's for certain - Abolishing the death sentence hasn't either.
