For those of you that care. And no, I'm not a JW, but I know someone who is. And yes, he is a bit odd, but also a nice bloke (just in case he is reading this).

It'll stop them from ringing our doorbell on Saturday morning at least. I used to employ a JW, nice lad from a nice family but some strange customs !

That pitch isn't looking good. Will they have to strip it and relay?

Funny they've always used Cov for their gatherings. I remember when they used Highfield Rd. Used to have coaches parked on Heath Cres

I used to live near the Grange in Stoke and remember the parking chaos - but I thought it was the Plymouth Bretheren that used HR not JW's - not that it's that important in the grand scheme of things.

Although delighted to be going back to the Ricoh, Steven Pressley has expressed concerns about the condition of the playing surface after the pitch was partially covered for a recent event.
The City boss took a trip up to the stadium with his backroom staff yesterday afternoon to check out the surface and had hoped his players would be able to train there next Thursday ahead of their first match against Gillingham.
But he said: “I’ve had a conversation with the people up there and it all depends on how the pitch recovers over the next week.
“To be honest it’s not great at this moment and there needs to be quite a lot of work done on it, but as Neil MacFarlane said, we’d rather be there than Northampton.
“My concern is that in three months time it will be really poor but we’ll worry about that in due course.
“It’s meant to be good weather next week so hopefully we will see some growth in it, and fingers crossed it will recover quickly. A week can make a big difference.”

We have very good groundsmen, why are people finding the slightest thing to moan at?

It will be ok by next friday, photosynthesis will run it's course..

I remember sneaking into Highfield Road one summer thinking we'd be able to have a mooch around deserted stands. Walk in to thousands in silent prayer, slowly walk out trying to remember if we were swearing loudly on the way in.

Handled a couple of flights at Coventry Airport for some bigwigs from the Plymouth Brethren who flew in from the States for some event(always seemd to be quite a few in Baginton for some reason), everybody really nice and sent us about £300 in vouchers a few days after as a tip.

Spent it all on copies of The God Delusion.

wow i went up 2 days ago and it looked a LOT worse than that... i imagine they have sprayed it & that is helping to make it look better than it really is, but given that in 2 days its gone from looking like my back garden , to looking like it does now, it gives me some hope!

We had good groundsmen but didn't he jump ship to Leicester? ACL would've only had a bloke and his flymo to trim it fortnightly.

You might be thinking of when Leicester reserves (or youth team) played at the Ricoh last year, think that was his suggestion.
