What fuse ? It's a forum to talk football and were talking football .

I get that the forum has been reduced to nonsense and generic twitter opinions
A fuse to ignite the same arguments that are happening in every thread... i mean surely you can see it? You're in a lot of them

He’s developed this persona of a contrarian, even on stuff that he’s completely wrong about. It’s extremely odd.
I find some of the actual football opinions on here quite bizarre.. so many simply never played the game beyond the dog and trumpet

One of people’s biggest criticisms of Robins was that he made obvious, generic substitutions that didn’t really change the game.

in this scenario he made a totally out of the box substitution, probably based on something he noticed during the game he could exploit and it paid off.

suddenly the argument is that he didn’t know what he was doing and was throwing any old player in any position

odd.

So people want an agreeable forum , where posters are free to post guff without push back ?

So reddit then ?

If that info came out on a manager you were or had been questioning you’d be considering it a bit weird.

So you have to understand why people are mentioning it.

So what you're saying tom is because it's an opinion nobody is wrong ? That's shite too isn't it .

2+2 isn't 5 mate
In football? Some opinions are pure guff, usually seen on Facebook. Others, then yes there's no real right or wrong. I don't see the point in getting as angry about it as some are.

Disingenuous. The criticism was he didn’t change the system/setup/tactics during the game. Player a player out of position is not that, it just seems a bit random. Ok, it worked when we were in possession and attacking but then Rudoni wasn’t having to defend.

Welcome to the chat mate , been a while

I think a manager putting a player on in a position off the cuff is a perfectly normal thing that happens in football everywhere

The fact he played well in 2 of the 3 appearances there is also not being mentioned by the doom merchants

Rudoni has to do defensive work whatever position he's playing , asking somebody who had played on the wing before to work back deeper is fine and jack should be fine with it .. really he was

Of course it’s a change in tactics, as in the second half we started playing down the left more using Rudoni? It’s disingenuous to say he just plonked a player in a position he’s never played for no reason.

if it was just Bidwell for JDS then maybe, but it wasn’t a like for like substitution

Those jumpers jfc

If I had that much money and looked like that I'd hope I'd have a mate who would do the right thing and burn my wardrobe down while I was at work.

So in summary

You don't think footballers play somewhere because a manager decided there and then to try it ?

It's very hard to understand your point because it's shite
My point is MR was just throwing stuff at the wall to see what stuck. Little preparation or prior thought behind it. Not a very good way to manage a team.

We were 2 nil down. This forum cries if things are kept to standard subs and things aren't working .

Manager throws a wildcard and we win 3-2 .

If it was guardiola you'd be crying genius

You have no evidence to that he was “throwing stuff at the wall” the only example you do is this one, based on second hand evidence and it paid off.

Nobody is saying it’s for no reason. It just comes across a bit ill thought out if it hadn’t been discussed/trained previously. The overall criticism about Robins and subs/tactics is not having a plan B and this still looks that way.

Yes, sometimes you need to play a player out of position but in the wider context it does feel a bit desperate.
FP is right to point out it’s based on someone else’s emphasis though and as I said it’s just speculation but everyone is now entrenching in their previous positions.

It’s part and parcel of football, happens every week at every level and suggests to me you’ve never played football at a decent level
