Really?
You haven't stopped moaning about him for the whole time he has been here, wasn't good enough for div 2 lol.

One thing is for sure I was right Burge is the better keeper.
De Gea first season at Man Utd had people calling him a waste of money and not good enough... unfortunately your average football fan thinks it’s the easiest position in the pitch and expect far too much , when in fact it’s the hardest and one that players need to grow into & needs the backing of the fans

Tom Davies. He’s back in the side and we’re on the up again. He did it last season too when he came in. He’s a winner in Doyle’s mould and should be our next captain when the time comes.

I think it is between Burge and Willis on games played - probably just Willis for me.

Hyam and Davies both up there but played less games - really lucky to have Willis/Davies/Hyam in squad at centre back.
Selfishly speaking would like a 4th for cover in case of injuries but very very happy with the three of them.

Got to be Burge for me. The improvement in him in the last 10-12 months has been clear for all to see. I like most of the others wanted him out of the door and thought there may be a “hangover” from that god damn awful team that he was part of that got relegated. Fair play to him-certainly proved me wrong.

Agree with eastwoodsdustman... our recent run has coincided with Davies returning to the side. He gives more than just defensive strength... he gives 100 per cent. We wouldn't have lost to Bristol if he had been in the pitch.

Came into the team too early imo and behind an equally too young and inexperienced defence, has had to learn on the job and behind a struggling team. Sometimes in life you have throw your hands in the air and admit you were wrong

On this thread you’ve already said Doyle is out best player because of his age. Perhaps we should see what tommy Hutchison is doing this days.

Oh and Westwood and Murphy had played a 100 games each before they were 24

It’s a fair point to say that he came into the team to early. You could say the same about Bayliss though but he has adapted straight away?

It's Just confidence
He struggled for it
Now after two good Wembley shows and a touch more maturity he has developed it
It could go again from time to time, but I think he's just about nailed it.

Player of the season so far for me I’d have to go with Lee Burge.

The spell in L2 has done him the world of good, it was like a season long loan spell that his career has needed for a few years with the backing of his manager weekly in a tight group of players believing in each other’s ability also his confidence has grown massively as a result.

A confident keeper = a good reliable keeper

You have this knack of twisting words to suit, where have I said Michael Doyle is our BEST player he is not our best, but he has played every league game pretty well every minute too, think the nearest other is Bayliss, which is why I say as the OP asked he’s our player of the season so far, having said that I also think Robins should be actively looking for his replacement either within the club or in the January window.

2 of our 3 goals came from Doyle on Saturday ;)
