RCC - 7 - He's less rigid than Burge and appears to anticipate things a bit better, good to have two options
Ricketts 7 - Solid, gets forward reasonably well too for a man of his age
Martin 7 - Very assured again, has stopped giving the ball away and makes challenges when he should
Johnson 7 - Struggled against Proctor to begin with but won the battle overall
Stokes 7 - Good block second half (as shown on highlights). Could be a bit more adventurous going forward but then I can see why we've tightened up
Vincelot 8 - I thought he really drove us forward second half, best I've seen him play personally
Fleck 7 - not as involved as usual but probably because of the way Vincelot took on the mantle a bit more
Murphy 7 - He really is a nightmare for defenders when he gets going, poor first half but nearly scored even then
Lameiras 6 - Anonymous in an attacking sense (though often lacking runs in behind to slip passes through to in fairness) helped the team out
JOB 7 - Better than recent performances, unlucky with one or two efforts, tries too hard at times almost
Fortune 7 - Worked very hard but had to come quite deep for the ball, very intelligent with his back to goal and strong as an ox
Subs
Thomas 7 - great drop of the shoulder for the goal, added a bit of impetus
Tudgay 6 - Did his bit to keep the ball in their half

I think, and hope, that RCC will make the shirt his own. Personally, I have more confidence in him than Burge. He seems to command his area well and his handling is second to none. A star in the making, I think.

I wonder If that was why
Jonathan Gould was down at Yeovil for WBA , or to have a pint with his dad?

Nope. He's in possession, he's not beena disaster, and as we don't have Joe Hart in reserve it's not an issue if he plays the next game or not.

RCC - 7 : Looked solid and made a few decent saves, especially one from quite close range.
Ricketts - 7 : Seems to have made a difference having him in the side and we have height right across the back line which is handy in this physical division.
Johnson - 7 : Solid again and did all the basics right. Was more relaxed when he was marking Proctor.
Martin - 7 : Looks very comfortable in this back line.
Stokes - 6.5 : Couple of missed place passes but offered more support to Murphy as the second half went on making space for him.
Vincelot - 6 : Didn't seem to be very involved in the game and sometimes gave the ball away too easy. Very valuable player for us but not his best game today.
Fleck - 7 : Would like to see him advance with then ball more often. Excellent control and pass but always picking up the ball too deep today to do any damage.
Murphy 7.5 : Unlucky not to score first half and went through a bad phase where nothing he did worked but got back in he game and was a real handful in the last 25 minutes.
O'Brien - 7 : Was better in the second half and had a couple of decent long range efforts.
Lameiras - 6.5 : Decent on the ball but always looking to come inside when the ball was played to him. Would like to see him beat his man on the outside as when we broke Fleetwood were getting plenty of men behind the ball and it was getting too crowded.
MAF - 6.5 : Held the ball up well on occasion but too often ended up out wide when we were on a position to get a cross into the box.

G Thomas - 7 : Looked to get forward quickly when in possession which is what was needed late in the game.
C Thomas & Tudgay - Came on too late to give a fair score.

All in all a good performance with a weakened team and a good sign that we can squeeze a result. I've always been a 'glass half empty' type when it comes to supporting City but even I felt like I knew we were going to score going in to the last 10 minutes. Keep winning at home and stealing to occasional away win and were in fora successful season.
