Dasilva Lati were worst of a bad bunch today (bar Simms). Will give grimes benifit of the doubt because I don’t think this system suits him but he was poor today.

Dovin 7 - no amazing saves of note to make, but was confident with everything.

Dasilva 4 - awful when left exposed 1v1.

Kitching 7 - gets stuck in, makes no serious errors.

Thomas 7 - gets stuck in, makes some minor errors.

Lati 4 - added a few points there because at the end when we were up against it and he has to head and kick the ball away; he is really good at that. All the football in-between and before he is not good at.

Grimes 6 - too often bypassed despite being a good short option. Tidy enough, didn’t get much help.

Eccles 5 - barely involved first half an hour. A few important interventions later on. Should have been off earlier in the game.

Rudoni 7 - not an inspiring game but another assist, which takes his tally to around 727 assists for the season.

MVE 5 - not at his best. But still the best option we have.

BTA 5 - looked a bit tidier today on the ball at times, but still didn’t have a good game and he knew as much.

Simms 8 - should have had a hat trick. Great first half in particular.

Allen 6 - improvement on Eccles when he came on.

Bidwell 6 - improvement on Dasilva when he came on.

Sakamoto 6 - improvement on BTA when he came on. Brave header and unlucky not to score.

EMC 6 - looked fairly sharp, good defensively and nearly had an assist.

No you shouldn’t have had two penalties.

Dovin 7

Good saves and some better distribution. Choices with short passes to defenders far too deep invited unnecessary pressure at times. Maybe should have caught their goal. Maybe.

MVE 7

Just scraped a 7 due to done decent throws but not at his best.

Lati 5

All over the show. Own goal (although not really his fault) and some poor passing. Could easily have cost a penalty.

Kitching 6

Poor passing. Poor decision making. Poor leadership. Doesn’t seem to shout when needed.

Thomas 6

Some brave heading but no game common sense. Those poor passes and unnecessary corners given away could have cost us dearly.

JDS 4

Really poor. Looked like a kid in the wrong team. A couple of good bits going forward.

Grimes 7

Shows for the ball. Without him we would have been hammered.

Eccles 6

So so.

Rudoni 6

A cultured midfielder that is playing pretty much pinned to the wing. Big distance between him and Sims. Get pulled inwards sometimes man.

BTA 5

Poor control and didn’t seriously press. Needs benching now EMC back.

Sims 8

One decent goal, one crossed off for a dubious foul, dubious winner. Biggest plus: Sims now knows that if you press hard then maybe something happens.

Subs 6 all.

Standouts were Simms and Dovin , both Kitching and Thomas were steady and battling .
Didn't think Rudoni had a good game despite the assist , he was wandering everywhere and leaving us exposed centrally. He's young and can improve that side of his game .
Others were worse than Rudoni however .
Lampard bringing on Sakamoto and EMC helped the wingbacks who were overran for over an hour
Massive win and keeps Wembley in sight 😍😍

Agree with most of those, but harsh on Milan. Tough afternoon, left exposed but did ok.

Rudi 11th assist too must be doing something ok

JDS 3. Looks like a schoolboy who won a competition to play a game of men's football.

Dovin - 7 - Made some good stops, but also had moments where he looked uncomfortable and made bad choices. Kicking was uncharacteristically poor.

Van Ewijk - 5.5 - Was left on an island to deal with the winger and LB until Saka came on. Made some good challenges but got burned also.

Lati - 4 - Was always going to struggle against one of the quickest, most physical teams in the league. And boy did he struggle. Stunned he wasn't subbed off. Needs to stop diving.

Thomas - 7 - Won all his headers, only lost 1 duel all game. Very solid against both Ugbo and Smith who are two tough customers.

Kitching - 5.5 - Four good blocks stop his score being the same as Lati and Dasilva. Got beat on the ground and in the air multiple times. Passing horrendous (65% completion).

Dasilva - 4 - Stupid decision-making at times and offered nothing going forward. Shouldn't start again this season.

Eccles - 4 - Not got a scooby doo what he offers the team. Won 0 tackles, didn't help out MVE enough, and completed a laughable FIFTEEN passes all game. Fucking abysmal. Can't wait to see him get binned off when Sheaf comes back.

Grimes - 7 - Looked a real standout player. Only midfielder we had on the pitch all game who can dictate tempo. If it wasn't for him we'd have had about 15% possession.

Rudoni - 6 - Another assist to the tally. Unremarkable game apart from that.

BTA - 5 - We got the anonymous, useless version of him today. Shame.

Simms - 8 - Should've had a hat-trick if not for a poor refereeing decision. Worked hard all game. Man of the Match.

Not their best games, but harsh on the wingbacks. Dealing with 2v1 on a number of occasions, Bannan making easy inside passes.
Maybe so. Possibly a result of the tactics. However, both were slow to close down crosses, were caught out positionally time after time and at times (particularly Van Erwijk) were ambling back into position.

agree with these and the comments, other than maybe a tad harsh on Rudi and MVE

Eccles and Dasilva lucky to get 4, they were both terrible

I thought Rudi was causing us problems defensively by getting pulled out of the middle a lot . I know he got an assist and his attacking intent is why he's in the side but on a day like today we needed all the players to be disciplined and help out defensively.
Wasn't too surprised to see him hooked
