I thought Rudi was causing us problems defensively by getting pulled out of the middle a lot . I know he got an assist and his attacking intent is why he's in the side but on a day like today we needed all the players to be disciplined and help out defensively.
Wasn't too surprised to see him hooked

I agree re him coming off, think that was the correct call at the time

My issue with Rudoni a lot tbh. Get him wide and there’s no one else you’d want crossing the ball in, off the ball he’s often a passenger.

I’m a big fan of his but thought MVE was worse.

Not sure I agree. MVE certainly didn't have a good game, but until Saka came on he had no support against winger and wing back as Lati was reluctant to move over to the right. His chasing after the loose ball at the end of the game and keeping it alive also led to the winner, even if the keeper helped us after that.

Standouts were Simms and Dovin , both Kitching and Thomas were steady and battling .
Didn't think Rudoni had a good game despite the assist , he was wandering everywhere and leaving us exposed centrally. He's young and can improve that side of his game .
Others were worse than Rudoni however .
Lampard bringing on Sakamoto and EMC helped the wingbacks who were overran for over an hour
Massive win and keeps Wembley in sight 😍😍
Their goal did come from a cross where Sakamoto was beaten by their full back though TBF

Concerned to see Eccles having so little influence on the game. For me, his strength was always in disrupting the opposition, nicking the ball and playing it simple. He did it as well as anyone in this league. Didn’t see much of that today, and he almost looked unfit because he wasn’t even getting close to them. I wonder whether he’s been asked to do things that aren’t natural to him, and maybe his confidence has been affected. Ironic and disappointing after he signed that big contract extension, which you’d think would have given him a massive boost.

Boils my fucking piss. We’re playing a back 3; the wide CBs job is to cover behind the wing back. Instead they all want to guard the 6 yard box.

he’s not playing any worse, honestly he’s always been pretty one dimensional and fairly average…

he’s had one decent game maybe in the whole of Lampard’s tenure, and I’m actually glad it seems he’s been found out as he isn’t good enough to be a regular starter in a team serious about getting promoted

He made a proper vital interception in the first half that would’ve been a very good chance of a goal for them. I thought he did well today.

Lati was dreadful , they kept playing their wide players high knowing Lati would leave them space all game
Why oh why doesn't Lati go towards the attacker with the ball? He just runs back in line with him and does not stop the cross! The amount of time he let's the attacker get into our box before he tries to close him down is so worrying

One of the worst performances I can remember for a good while. Dreadful.

Dovin 7
Van Ewijk 4
Lati 4
Thomas 6
Kitching 6
Dasilva 4
Eccles 4
Grimes 5
Rudoni 6
BTA 5
Simms 8

I must have seen a different game to you. I didnt think we were 'dreadful' at all. Under pressure maybe, but we won the game, so we obviously dealt with it.

Ridiculously OTT.

He is one that seems to have gone backwards a bit since FL's arrival.

Maybe because this is the first time in his career he's had a new manager come in and he's got to try and impress so he's feeling the pressure a bit. I remember when he was coming through the youth coaches were saying he could be what he wants to be if he just believes in himself.

I think we might be seeing a bit of self doubt creeping in, especially when your new manager was one of the best English midfielders ever.

Eccles has his limitations, but he's certainly capable of being a solid squad member of a good Championship team. Hopefully he starts to regain his confidence soon and I hope that FL puts an arm around his shoulder and gives him encouragement, as I think he's the type of player that would respond better to that.

genuinely asking out of interest, no agenda, would we miss him?

he’s a decent squad player, but personally I don’t think he improves us, and I don’t think Lampard sees what some do on here otherwise he’d be a nailed on starter
