Look Ellis Simms done ok, he wasn't fantastic but he held the ball up, he didn't score and would I like an upgrade...absolutely, would I be sorry to see him go probably not because we want someone who can score plenty of goals too as well as trying to mask over Simms isn't the footballer we want or need, if he was that footballer we would be almost certainly higher up the table and for the record Asantes not that footballer either or indeed Bassette at this point (juries definitely out) so instead of point scoring lets just enjoy our run of wins at the minute and celebrate together

Dovin, excellent again
MVE, good link play
Lati, solid
Thomas, a beast, loved his tackle in Watford half that got us a corner & the block near the dug outs that stopped a break.
Kitch, good solid game, not at fault for the own goal, his long balls and short forward runs are caused problems for Watford
Torp, star man, 2 very different types of goals and combative in midfield, looks fitter than ever
Rudoni, so good on the ball
Allen, every bloody where, really stymied Watford opportunities when they got the ball near our box
Bidwell, solid performance, got back a bit better than in a few matches recently
Asante, good first half, went a bit off the pace later
Simms, isn't losing the ball like he was, wasn't played in, I'd say a bit of work is needed on his positioning when the ball comes in high to him so he gets a touch rather than it going 6 inches over his head and his movement in general when we are carrying the ball forward.
Saka, decent sub, very energetic
Eccles, gone off the boil, I'm sue it's a temporary thing

Burroughs, on the bench I think this means he cannot go on loan now, we have an MVE backup if needed.

We absolutely do have that in him. Good on you for backing our players, man. Look forward to seeing him and Wright back together too, their partnership last season was good. More to come from them.

His views on haji wright this time last year were not entirely supportive

That's a shame because look at him now, oh how we miss him. To think, we haven't even seen him under Lampard yet. I'm eager to see him back and playing.
The same goes for EMC, look at the things he was being called by some not so long ago, then the change that came when he started getting minutes.
I think every single one of those players starting in recent games, has stepped up their game massively, you can see confidence has been a big issue. Credit where it is due because we've just beaten 3 current play off contenders in a week, and that is down to all of them.

Most of teams we've just beaten are in patches of poor form (Bristol excepting), we have been lucky to play them at this time. Actually our recent form is quite good compared to most of the teams above us even now, only Leeds & Burnley are keeping up the pressure.

This is good to see, i like these recent form tables. I think under Lampard, aside from the write off at Pompey, and the poor game management at Norwich, what he has done with what we have available, has been really good. It's clear to see whatever is going on at Ryton, is now starting to show on a match day. I've heard that the feeling at training is good, and that they are all enjoying the attention they are getting individually. So praise to the new coaching staff too, as it clearly shows that we are getting more from all of them.

That save from Dovin at 2-1 which deflected was unreal.

Cant remember last time i felt so comfortable with a keeper both with his hands and feet.

Going to be a prem level keeper - Hopefully with us!

Agree, that save doesn't get the credit it deserves. 👏

No new rumours after the game Jimmy?
Just back from the game. Have to mention Jamie Allen, i think he's been superb since being brought back into the team, absolutely everywhere and showing some great leadership.
Torp again, another one who is stepping it up deserves much credit. Same goes for Thomas and Kitching, really showed aggression today.
Simms again great hold up play, and BTA's effort is unmatched. Difficult for both of them today with both teams playing 5 at the back, left it gritty and tough for the strikers.
These are the games that it's important to have midfielders chipping in, and also the type of game we were not getting anything from.
3 wins on bounce, great week.

Apologies i've only just seen this.
I was told at the game that the RB talks had broken down, that the CM talks were still going well.
We are actively scouting for a LB / LWB (think this will be for the summer window), i believe JDS will leave in the summer.
Still possibly looking at right sided loan this window.
Schlupp interest is real.
No bid came in for Lati, team wasn't Burnley.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a bid come in for Eccles in the summer.
BTA interest this window growing stronger.

Cheers for the reply! Sounds steady ish then. Let’s hope we manage to get the CM. Like the idea of fullbacks being looked at too. Eccles an interesting one.

Yeah i think MVE needs some sort of cover, this could be why they are still looking at the possibility of the right sided loan. It's an area of weakness. I don't think Lati offers the right cover if we continue to play with fullbacks and his pace is concerning when covering RB.
Eccles is an interesting one, watch this space.

That's why Burroughs was on the bench Saturday mate.

Yeah of course, he's a better option currently than Sandiford Jr.
If they can bring in someone more experienced than Burroughs for that position on loan, then that would be another solid addition.
I was only told possibility of right sided loan, that could mean a winger, RB was only my assumption as the talks had broken down for a permanent signing.

I don't think it's the biggest priority anymore. Lati, Burroughs, even Eccles could fill in there or RWB if MVE gets injured.

No i wouldn't say it's the biggest priority either (until MVE leaves). It's clearly an area they are looking at though for permanent cover, whether that be now or the summer. Whoever the RB was they were talking with, it was for a permanent transfer.
