Simms just miles off what we need, can’t control the ball to save his life. EMC busy tackling himself trying to be too clever with the ball.

Despite all the deficiencies we still get a point without that idiot in goal.

Rudoni, MVE did well.
Sakamoto poor
EMC again totally ineffective

Collins 5 His career is in the balance

MVE 8 MOTM Incredible work rate, created our goal out of nothing
Thomas 7 Seems to have become a real leader
Kitching 5 The kind of horrendous mistake that a £4.5m CB simply should not be making
Dasilva 7 His combination play with EMC is miles better than Bidwell

Grimes 5 Unforgiveable mistake for the first goal
Allen 6 Didn’t feel like he rose to the occasion as captain when the ref was losing control
Rudoni 6 Never really got a foothold on the game

Sakamoto 5 Didn’t get a sniff
Wright 6 Very few opportunities against the best CBs in the league
EMC 6 Exciting to watch on the ball but not much end product today

Torp 5 Absolutely miles off it
Simms 5 Touch failed him yet again

MVE 8 motm - good on the ball and throws, won his tackles, usual frightening pace gets us out of so much trouble
Thomas 7
Kitching 5
Da Silva 6
Grimes 5
Allen 5
Rudoni 6
Wright 6
EMC 5

Mason Clarke and Da silva are a hopeless combination. Defensively it’s non existent.

Sakamoto even when not performing offensively supports MVE and they work well as a combination - our left side was under 11 stuff when defending

We lose 2-1 to a team who are very good and made them panic/battle for the win and gave them a goal (arguably 2!) and we're dishing out 4s and 5s
Collins v.poor for 2nd goal, Kitching and Grimes at fault for 1st.
If we had snatched an equaliser then amazingly these 4s and 5s would turn into 7s or 8s
Apart from the 3 I've mentioned no one else near a 4 or 5

For a professional footballer Simms is shocking, Bambi on ice would control the ball better.

Collins 4 for obvious reasons
Grimes 4 obvious mistake, but bang average all game. Didn't get hold of the midfield and looked a yard off the pace.
EMC 5. Got plenty of the ball but failed to create enough.
Rudoni 7 battled well throughout
MVE 7.5 mom
Everyone else 6

There's a noticeable difference in class between Leeds, Sheffield Utd, Burnley and us. That becomes evident when you look at both penalty boxes.
We arnt far away in general, but we gift too many easy goals away, and we are too slow to deliver the killer ball in the final third, and not ruthless enough when we do.

Teams have spotted our weakness. Such a high proportion of their attacks were down their right.

Bit harsh on EMC but I think sides have researched him as well - often up against three men

Thought the only real standouts were MVE and Thomas.
I've never let a refereeing performance get to me, the way it did today. Infuriating.
Saw a stat after the game, that the ball was in play for a total of 47 minutes. 102 game stoppages. Burnley are masters of the dark arts and the referee allowed them to dictate everything. Ironically the only thing he didn't bottle, was showing Lampard a red.

Most of their attacks were down their left.

If you have 3 men on you, it means we have 2 men spare elsewhere. You therefore need to draw them in and then move the ball quickly to exploit the overload elsewhere on the pitch. At the minute he's holding on to the ball, having too many touches, slowing the game down and allowing teams to swarm him out.

Taking too much time on the ball has been a real weakness throughout the season.

I thought Collins was poor for the first goal also. Instaed of spreading his body to block the ball, he just seemed to wimp out and made no challenge at all.

Agree although Grimes, Kitching and Allen to blame before we get to Collins

Grimes....shit pass
Kitching....follow the man out wide to slow play down instead of pointing and telling Da Silva to go
Allen....didn't follow his man

Forget Burnley's questionable tactics, forget the Ref. We were poor today and gift wrapped Burnley two goals. We have done that too often this season. Apart from the goal and one chance Haji could not get on the end of, we created very little.

In his biggest critic, but the first goal was nothing to do with him.

Totally agree. There's a desperation to blame the poor bloke for everything. Chances are his CCFC career is toast. Celebrate that if you must, move on.

Let's see if "super" Ben Wilson is any better.
