Considering Burge made a ‘world class’ save, and Hyam made a really good goal line clearance... I think Newport will be thinking we’re very average too.
They’re a solid team at home, and it might not be pretty, but clearly it’s effective.
If I’m honest I think Burge has been ok this season.
I know that feelingHaynes who has ability but doesn't seem capable of concentrating for longer than 2 or 3 minutes at a time.
Yes, for Newport going the opposite way.Haynes was a threat going forward today.
He wasnt . His crossing was dreadful.Haynes was a threat going forward today.
How many other league 2 keepers do you watch regularly?
I’ve missed three games all season, home and away. I also see the goals from other games on an invention called the internet and there are goals every week in other games where the keepers have made howlers.
Burge has made some phenomenal saves, caught the majority of crosses that have come near him. His distribution is worse than shit (I can’t defend that) but to constantly belittle a keeper that has conceded less in the league than any other by some margin is weird.
That’s my point though you’ve seen the others once maybe twice. If you were a forest green fan or an Exeter fan your opinion would be negative.
Its also rather odd that you equate clean sheets entirely to the goalkeepers credit but praise a centre forward who has the worse goals per game record in the entire football league the consequence of which is we are still the lowest scorers in the top half of the table.
I agree about Haynes he has the attention span of a dead goldfish but he does bring something with his pace just wish he was more composed but I guess that's just his red hair traitStokes has been dreadful. I would rather Haynes unless Stokes can rediscover his old form, and that's not an endorsement of Haynes who has ability but doesn't seem capable of concentrating for longer than 2 or 3 minutes at a time.
He wasnt . His crossing was dreadful.
Correct, it was. He was still a threat, beat his man plenty of times. Stokes couldn't go past a player if he was on the floor injured.
Beating a man then doing sod all. Also his man who scored the goal but yes had a great game...Correct, it was. He was still a threat, beat his man plenty of times. Stokes couldn't go past a player if he was on the floor injured.
Says a lot they class him as a wing back. Shows he doesnt defend muchTaken from the Newport forum:
'Our midfield did everything their ability allowed. Dolan and Tozer worked their socks off but get exposed by pace which Coventry had in abundance their ginger left wing back Haynes looked a class act.'

And lets not forget it started when we were putting them under pressure and the first 'pass' was actually an under pressure miskick that fluked all the way like a world class pass.> Vincenti and Bayliss easily taken out of the game from a simple pass
> Grimmer beat by his man allows the ball into the box
> Hyam goes out to the wing - doesn’t manage to get the ball
> McDonald shrugged off
> Haynes beaten by his man
= Goal
It’s very easy to look at one player and say it was his fault (normally the last error) when really the goal was a catalogue of errors

You do understand the principal job of a left back don’t you?
