We need to get to the bottom of this.

Also worth reading the comments at the bottom - one of our pro-Sisu/anti-ACL, Higgs, CCCouncil posters torn to shreds while showing his true colours.

That is very interesting. I emailed the Football League asking them when players registrations were moved from Ltd to Holdings and if they knew about it. They have refused to answer my questions and refer me to the general statement they released a while ago. I believe something seriously dodgy/incompetent went on with player regisrations. I think the FL cocked up and then felt they should transfer the Golden Share to Otium, so they didn't get sued by Otium. I also asked if the FL had been threatened with legal action by SISU, they didn't answer that either!

Real fan here with a genuine question.


The latest accounts submitted for CCFC Ltd show that it is the 'Club': Player registrations, contracts etc. These accounts were submitted in 2011 (attached).
The latests accounts submitted for CCFC Holdings, showed they were simply a 'holding company' not involved in the day to day running of the 'Club' (attached)


When CCFC Ltd went into administration in 2013, CCFC Holdings claimed CCFC Ltd was simply a property subsidiary. Holdings claimed to be the 'club' as it held player registrations etc and claimed beneficial ownership of the 'Golden Share'. I know the FL say the Golden Share remained in Ltd, what I would like to know is at what stage did player registrations get transferred from Ltd into CCFC Holdings? Did the FL sanction this moving of player registrations or did SISU do it without your full knowledge and consent and then threaten the FL with legal action?


The football League may only care about fulfilling the fixtures, but how player registrations were moved has ultimately meant that SISU companies have managed to put us £60M+ in debt, avoid fulfilling & paying contracts, to retain the Football Club through Otium and are now going to play 'home' games in Northampton.


I look forward to the FL providing detailed information on exactly when player registrations etc were transferred from CCFC Ltd to CCFC Holdings.

Thank you for your email, however we are not able to provide further comment regarding issues relating to Coventry City at this time, other than contained in previous emails to you on the matter.

My reply:
This is a specific query about when players contracts moved from Ltd to Holdings and when the FL were aware of this. There is no mention of any of that in your previous replies. This is a real question from a real fan, please provide an answer if if it is a short one.

FL should be ashamed, they haven't issued any clear statements and won't answer legitimate questions. Can only lead me to believe they have something to hide.

When a group of fans went to their offices last week they refused to even answer the door to them!

Exactly - in all the previous accounts CCFC Ltd was described as 'running a professional football club', it had 108 employees iirc in the 2011 accounts, and a turnover of £11m to £9m in the last three submitted accounts iirc.

Now it's a mere 'property subsidiary' with no staff or assets.

Those 108 employees could be ballboys, stewards, office workers, the kit lady and the groundstaff and not include any playing staff, or it could include the whole squad - I know where my money lies.

This needs to be out in the open, and that's why ACL/Higgs/CCCouncil should reject the CVA.

It could be that new players and contract renewals were don't in holdings and only the likes of wood and bell were in Ltd.

Holdings 2011 accounts showed employees went up by ~150 employees.

Remember this time last year when all the players had to sign new contracts, supposedly to support out the wage structure. I would be surprised if this wasn't the point at which the change was made. Maybe we should tweet Bell or one of the players who have left and see if we get an answer!

£400k doesn't sound a lot when you consider the players we had in 2010/2011 financial year.

In other words the "players’ registrations as an asset with a book value of £466,742" only accounts for not quite two players!

When he replied that "I had not provided any evidence", I decided to leave him alone in his own little world as I often decide on here! I felt cruel to have embarrassed him on his own blog.


Do you think that was loosing? I thought I had more than proved my point.

Surely Appleton and the FL insolvency team needed to ensure the accounts were filed and these matters of player registrations clarified.
What is Appleton administrating does he actually understand the assets he has???

Yes. Definitely. And you should man up and admit it.

He is analysing, and has provided evidence. He has offered to amend anything that is proven inaccurate by evidence which you are clearly unable to provide. Makes you look a bit silly really (even if you are quite clearly on the wind up).

They can file the accounts while the future of Ltd is uncertain, and they can't submit holdings or sky blue sports and leisure either as there's too much inter dependence on funding between the companies. They would need to be signed off by auditors, which won't happen until Ltd's fate is known.
